SoD PvP Tournament.

Come one come all to the very first of many PvP tournaments.

When: Friday the 24th - 9PM Eastern Standard Time!

Where: The Newport Arena.

Entry Fee: 210 platinum ( 200 for the prize pool, 10 for the entry fee. )

Layout: The first tournament is going to be a free for all tournament, which means that there will be no tiers. This means if you are unfortunate you could get Terate in the first round! Everyone is expected to show up at 8:45, those who show up after 9pm will be disqualified. In order to do the seeding, there will be a battle royal where all competitors enter the arena at the same time. The last person standing will be seed number one, the first person who dies will be the last seed.

Rules:
1. Self buffed only. I personally have no way to detect if you have soul bound buffs, unless a GM is willing to help this will have to be on the honor system, each combantant will be dispelled eight times before each fight, and then they will be allowed 3 minutes to self buff, 2 minutes to recover mana. Then the fight shall begin.

2. If you are not on time for your fight you are disqualified.

3. Mez/Doting will NOT be allowed. This is basically cheating.

4. Fear is allowed.

5. Lifefire, Manaburn, and Lifeburn are not allowed.

6. The prize pool distribution will be determined based on the number on entrys.

7. Earring of the Bound Heavens will not be allowed.

This is hopefully the first of many PvP events. I would like to do a random team event next. Please post with intent to sign up, and or any ideas you might have or modifications you would like to discuss about the rules.

I don't think you understand what Mez/Doting is. This basically only hinders necromancers and bards I suppose. It is when a necromancer casts mes on you, and then full dots you. The server is coded so that players mez is not broken by dots. So there you are doing nothing for 60 seconds while a necromancers dots destroy you. It is a broken tactic.

Doting... and Mezing, by themselves are allowed of course. The mez doting combo is not.

If you want to allow mez doting you want to hand the event to a necromancer.

I would like to do this in the old lake rathe tear arena, however I'm not sure thats possible, in my mind the new port arena is the next best one. If you have any suggestions please list them.

i will if i can get the hour off from raiding, which probably isn't likely.. but i hope i can make it.. unsure which char i'll bring.. something tells me people might gun for zhak should i decide to bring him ;)
 
Someone should bot Junius for this because I wont be here :mad: Next time though youll all pay bc I am a furious fighter.
 
For this first tournament I am going to allow potions because I really don't know how big of an effect they will have.

Terate: Kill the guards before the tournament obviously.

I would encourage people to sign up at least by wednesday, thanks.
