Hello, I've decided to try out the Shards of Dalaya EQemu server, which I found while looking at the eqemu page and setting up a minilogin setup for SP play as well.
I have a question about the functionality of the SoD patcher though, as, apparently, the instructions are to let the game update from the official servers, and THEN run the SoD patcher. Does this mean that the SoD patcher "backs down" the installed gae data files to something that is compatible with the version of eqemu used by SoD?
If so, I had a further question, as to whether or not I would also be able to setup/run my own minilogin game using the eqemu, mysql 4, and the Project Game DBs?
Further notes: I'm installing all of this from the original(1999) Game CD, so I had to dig up the updated .exe from the the Company site. (Well, that was before I found another post on one of these forums with a link to it...) I also, missed the immediate cancel of the autopatch downloading, hit it a few minutes later then picked out the advanced update options as the guide/how to indicates, and am looking at about another 6h of downloading at this point. (I might end up giving up, and coughing up another $20 for the Company for Titanium set, if that is what it will take to also be able to run a minilogin, or I get tired of waiting for the official patching(pokey!).
I haven't played/tried Game in about 7y now. (Tired of grinding, and lack of people good to group with at convenient times. Originally started with friends who either quit or power levelled WAY above my char's level at the time... Kept the account active for another 6m or so, then cancelled it.) It's really too bad that the Company doesn't officially support a SP version, like Minions of Mirth does...

OK, about an hour later and after more digging through the forums, I'm guessing that this isn't going to work, so I'll have to go buy a copy of Titanium, and try again. I am still curious if the SoD patcher does some sort of backdown though...
