SoD on Mac

I'm running Windows with the Parallels program on my Mac. I have everquest and SoD setup and ready to go, but! I'm having trouble once it loads. Once the program loads it sends me an error saying "No 3D Device Detected." I was wondering how I can remedy this. I understand that there maybe an issue considering all my 3D application-ness may be on my Mac OS. Do I need to d/l a driver on my Windows OS?

If so, what?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I would think you would need to install Window drivers for the graphics card in order to run SoD on your Mac.

Parallels is probably an Apple version of Crossover. you need to run Cedega if you've got Mac OS X, if not, you're just plain out of luck. there is no mac support for SoD. Mac OS X is actually darned close to being BSD, so run the BSD version of Cedega, and it *SHOULD* work.

I have Mac OSX. I don't really understand the whole Cedega thing. When I looked up Cedega it is for Linux and I have to pay for it monthly. Parallels runs windows as a program. I'm guessing I need to download a video driver? Which one do I download and where?

I don't know anything about Parallels, but if it runs Widnows in a window on your Mac desktop, than I really can't see it being able to run SoD. It would be emulating every little thing Windows and it's child programs (such as SoD) are doing. Also because Aqua is the default graphical system in OS X, you may not be able to run the BSD port of Cedega. I know there's an X11 add-on that might do it, but from what I remember it doesn't sound likely that it will work, running SoD on top of X11 on top of Aqua.
Yes, Cedega requires a subscription to download their software. You may actually have better luck with Wine. If I use Cedega under Linux to play SoD, all my models are all screwed up. Characters are missing armour, and some races are naked. Under Wine, it runs as it should. Looks pretty much the same as in Windows. Wine is also free for download and use.
Your best bet would be to use bootcamp (if you have an Intel Mac) and install a real copy of Windows. You'll have to follow their directions on how to do it from the Apple website. Also, there's no 100% guarantee that that will work either.
You have a few options anyways, good luck!

Installed Boot Camp and SoD was having a bit of trouble with the choppiness etc that had been mentioned in other forums.

I then changed it to be in a window and it worked perfectly. After that, I logged out to do homework, but, when I logged on afterwards and today it's completely fuxed up again?

Explanation? Solution?

Please!

EQ play nice WORKS! choppiness? use it; it fixxed mine and mine was choppy(i use windows not Mac parallel, but same problem=same solution on =OS)...

I have this running on osx using crossover, it was quite easy....just install crossover, create a bottle, copy your sony directory over to the drive_c folder under program files. Then in the bottle use the 'run' command on the top and point it to eqgame add the patchme to the end and then click run, it loads fine, plays pretty good.

What ver of Crossover? I've tried Crossover Games 7, and it scrambles fonts. Crossover 6.2.1 loads it fine, but generally slow, but when the character screen loads it doesn't display the 'enter game' button. This is on 10.5.2 OSx, 2GB, 1.6d intel.
