SoD IRC question

Hello everyone.

I'm terribly sorry to bother everyone, but I'm having some IRC connection troubles. I've searched all over the boards, including the tok, but am unable to find any answers. I'm sure I've simply missed the post, and for that I'm very sorry. If anyone can direct me to the link, I would be most grateful. Hopefully this post isn't trash can worthy.

My problem, however, is not being able to connect to the IRC client. I've tried connecting through both the Trillian client and mIRC client with no success. Trillian just boinks on me, but mIRC attempts to connect and then says (Software caused connection abort). I'm not sure why it would say this, I'm not too brilliant with computers. I've connected to other IRC's before though, so I assume I'm just doing something stupid this time to prevent the connection.

Is the www.shardsofdalaya.com:6667 information not correct?

Again, I'm terribly sorry to post something that I'm sure has been talked about before. I'm just having some troubles finding posts about it. I'm not looking for any easy answers, I'd be happy just to be directed to any IRC topics I've missed.

Thanks again, take care.

Thank you for the link bud. I greatly appreciate you help but unfortunatley, I basically get the same error, in both Firefox and Explorer, as I did earlier.

( Unable to connect : java.net.SocketException : Software caused connection abort: connect )

Like I said above, I'm not very computer literate. Not sure what my problem is in regards to that error. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried installing the java virtual machine? it can be found at www.sun.com under downloads. this is not included in recent versions of internet explorer, I don't know about firefox, but is required to use java based applications. if this doesn't fix try placing the full error message in google and hope you can find someone with the same problem.

I'll give that a try bud, thanks. To this day I still am unable to connect; maybe this will work . Regardless, Thanks for taking the time to look up an old thread like this and offer another suggestion.
