Well... since I can't figure out what's keeping me from being able to play (it works perfectly on my brothers laptop which is nearly identical) I guess I'll have to just throw in the towel. Thankyou all for the tech support, especially Wany and DBum. I might try again once you have the new patcher up and running (or might just beat my brother senseless and use his computer from time to time) but this just isn't worth the time fighting with it when I could be doing other things. Yet again thankyou and I'm sorry to have taken up your precious time.
 
Sad to see you go. Sadder still to see you go over technical issues. Perhaps the new patcher that Zipher made will be able to help you better? Keep in touch and that might cure what ails you.
 
I think I can fix you up, actually, I've encountered your issue before. PM me in IRC.
 
If your brother's computer plays it fine, delete EQ from your computer and just pull the folder from his computer. You don't have to install the game to play it. I've formatted my hard-drives on both of my computers and merely pulled the folder from one to the other and it works fine.

Just a possible solution.
 
Just be really sure that the installed directories are the same. If not youm might run into issues with the copy/paste. I hope you can resolve this for you, hate to see anyone leave over a thing like tech issues.
 
Eh, wanted to thank everyone for the ideas and say that I found a way in, just gave up getting it to work on my system and am playing it off the various other computers scattered around the house. Yet again thanks, was nice to see all the ideas especially with the hordes of players coming in.

P.S. mainly is just in answer to the couple people who noted on OOC that I had finally made it in.
