Then it dawned on me that the link to etheral weapons are in 55+ zones. Seems unrealistic for a lowby to gather this.

According to the wiki article Theron Ygnir directly tells the player where to buy an ethereal mace.

You (or anyone, really) could improve the wiki by finding the exact name of the vendor NPC and adding that information to the articles about the ethereal weapons.

I'm also fairly sure ethereal weapons drop in yarlith, but that still might be to high level

Here's the quote from midway down the wiki article that Wesell alludes to:

You say, 'What about an ethereal mace?'
Theron Ygnir says, 'The Dawn Tribe in the oasis sells ethereal weapons. I'm sure they would sell you one if asked nicely.'

Indeed, the intention is for the player to buy the Ethereal Mace for a platinum or two from one of the orc merchants surrounding Dawn Seer Tarnok in the center of The Oasis. The merchant in question simply hasn't found his way into the wiki.

Alternatively, I believe the player could also find an Ethereal Mace from the level ~25 ghosts in South Kaladim.
