Smith Glurb Missing

i am currently doing the bloggo's shield quest and i am at the part where i have to turn in the obsidian slab to smith glurb so i can get the obsidian plating and give that plus the ash board to bloggo for the shield......for some reason smith glurb hasnt been spawning at all......i have checked both during the day at night and havent seen him......and i know where he is located b/c i did the obsidian runeblade quest.....i see that another person on here had a problem with him spawning......i was wondering if this was gonna be fixed anytime soon or if it was gonna be a while
