Smaller wizard familiars

The reason I'm asking this is:
a) wizards can't shrink their familiars
b) you can't /pet guard or /pet sit them. If you're a gnome in a no-levi zone and the mobs come from west, you will be missing the action unless you zoom out. And it's stil pretty annoying when several mobs come or there's any other critical situation when you have to react quickly.
c) familiars are somehow big. They're taller than a shaman's pet, for example.
d) to me, a wizard familiar stereotype has always been a small animal which could be hidden inside a large pocket (blame dnd)

What I'm asking for:
1) make wizard familiars smaller, like the size of a frog companion (this one is my favourite solution because of reason d)
2) give wizards the pet shrink spell
3) allow us to keep the buff while dismissing the buff (naw, I prefer 1)

Thanks!

But their fellow SHM/BST friends can.

You wanted to play ogre food. Now life with the disadvantages... ;)

Uhm, nope. Unless the SHM pet is shrinked. (If you want to see a REALLY big familiar, have a chanter cast ogre on it followed by a giantkin. Oh, best to do this is out of sight in DHK, then run to your raid, shouting TRAIN!!!...)

Of these, I prefere option 2. But I don't see any need for this tbh.

I think it would be neat to see this for purely superficial reasons. My concept of a familiar is also of a creature smaller in size. It's too bad the panther model isn't global - a black cat is really what I think of.

I don't play a wizard, so I don't have any stake in this - just my two cents.

P.S. Why is Nwaij so hostil to this idea?

You are the only one who has even typed need in this thread until just now. I'm pretty sure that Suggestions & Requests is not limited to thing that you need. Bernat's idea is more along the lines of a tweak he thinks would be cool.
