Can anyone confirm what a mod like "+1 2hb" is based upon? Is it an overcap for 2hb skill so 255 + the +1 mod for a total of 256? Is it a percentage of your blunt/avoidance specicalize?

And does it affect how often you hit or what?

I know this seems like a noobish question, but I haven't found anyone who can say exactly what it does in game.

Also, does anyone know what the improvement of a 2hb skill 255 to 256
(if the mod is +1 2hb) is if that is in fact what +1 weapon mods do? To be more clear, is it that +1 2hb comparable to going from 254 to 255 as it would be at 255 to 256? Or is there some bonus to going overcap from 255 to 256?


What the heck do weapon mods specifically do?
 
Say your weapon hits for x on average without a weapon skill mod. With a skill mod it now hits for something on average slightly larger than x.

Say your weapon misses x amount on average without a weapon skill mod. Now add a weapon skill mod and your weapon misses slightly less than x on average.

i.e. skill mods increase both dmg and accuracy.

How much exactly? 25 skill mod is supposed to be worth about 2-3% more total dmg due to both hitting harder and missing less.
 
There is a hard cap of +25 to any skill, pretty sure overcap doesn't do anything special. Just think of it as having a 2hb skill of a lvl 66 if you were at 260...
 
I thought that even though it says +1, that it was percentile. So +1 would be 1% to current skill. Or was this changed way back and I'm a old person that follows bad old things?

Thank you for the information. So 2hb +3 would give approximately a +3 literal damage. If my Greatstaff of Denos hits for an average of 200 per strike, it could then average 203ish.
 
Hmm there doesn't seem to be a unified answer to what weapon skill mods do lol.

Zaela, +3 2hb mod raises your attack by "8" plus a max blunt/avoid spec for a total of "+9" attack and thus would also affect your accuracy (due to the attack increase)? Does it also affect your damage? And if so, is it a percentage or a literal figure?
