Just chiming in with more of the same. I think I got in a 30-39 tmap one time, and we were mostly near 39, but this was a long time ago. I remember it being very hard and we ended up giving up for the night after an hour or two.
I didn't do another map til 60 because it seems to be 100% accepted that VE/E maps are way easier than any of the simples. I have participated in a ton of VE/E/M maps now and I don't know if we've totally failed a single one... and maybe one of them took and hour... but they are so much easier than simples are. Oh and most of the VE/E/M work has been with a single group, or at most maybe 8-10 toons... we do them as a guild and often have lower level people in group who don't contribute a ton so I would still call most of them single-groups.
I didn't realize there was any question as to whether simple maps were tougher. I thought it was generally accepted that simple maps were to be basically ignored and you just level up to 60 and do the easier ones.
