A friend of mine and I were killing Giant Spiders and Large Spiders in Odus to collect some silks for tailoring. This was extremely difficult for a few reasons.
1). He and I are level 11 and 10, and the Giant Spiders are up to Yellow Con.
2). The treants that roam the area killed us both at least three times.
3). Spiders were plentiful until one point in which there were no spiders for about an hour.
4). Spiders did not drop silks more than half the time, and when they did, It was only 1 silk at a time. Only once did i recieve two off of one large spider.
What I am suggesting is that there should either be some spiders spawning in a "darkie" zone in which monsters ten levels higher than you will root, stun, and smash you to death. Or the drop rate / spawn rate of the spiders is upped slighty to reward you for this grueling task.
I don't mean for this to be harsh, i personally think that this is way too difficult for characters at the same, if not higher level than the spiders, to get silk to make silk items which would only be used at that level.

(btw, After 2 hours of hunting, i had gotten 5 pieces of silk, made the swatches, and failed on the robe. ;( )
