So I'm at the part right after you find the first dead ranger corpse, hail it, and get the journal.

My quest journal now reads:

"[Instincts and Intentions]
I found a sign of him alright... lets see what his last thoughts were..."


Reading the journal leads you to believe you need to look in either West Plaguelands, Shadowdale, or Rivervale for some kind of shadow. However I've scoured these zones for hours and been unable to trigger anything or find anything that will progress the quest.

Is this currently broken, am I missing something obvious, or is the trigger zone for an event so tiny that it is very easy to miss / hard to find?
 
I'm bumping this awful thread because I'm not sure if it's bugged or I am just bad @ game in some fashion or another.
 
Somehow this resolved itself even though I did not get a journal update. It went from telling me to investigate based on the vagaries of the Farham's Journal contents to telling me to go back to Sihala. Not sure how or why.

Can lock or trash this thread.
