/shield info

Hello everybody,

Just wondering if the warrior /shield command from Live is in SoD, and if so, if it works the same, and in conclusion, weither it is worth the trouble to use or not.

Thanks!

I don't know how it worked on live because I never played there, but /shield is in sod. If a warrior uses /shield with a shield equipped his target takes a ton less melee damage as long as he stays pretty close.

It's definitely worth more to a raid than a warrior's DPS, so its a great thing for a second warrior to do, should you be equipped with one.

On live I had a hotkey set to a multi assist to make sure I shielded right, has saved the life of quite a few groupmates. Very useful skill indeed.

Iirc /shield in SoD adds twice your shields ac to the blocking skill of the one your shielding.

as an aside you can also shield the mob you are fighting if your raid leader is being a shit

Not sure if it's sarcasm or not but I didn't understand last sentence o_O

adds twice your shields ac to the blocking skill of the one your shielding.
Is this confirmed ?

/shield lets you block for the person you're shielding, and your block skill (for people who don't actually have the skill) is equal to two times your shields AC, and is unaffected by +block mods from items. (ie. the +block on Cloak of Valor is sadly useless for the classes that are listed on it.)

Are there any figures for how much affect this has on the damage number?

And is there anything that distorts the result, as in whether or not the shielder is also deflecting damage from the front, or attacking a different mob?

So does that mean that a 2nd tank can use /shield on the MT to further reduce the damage the MT takes? Or is /shield designed to substitute the target's ability to block with the warriors?

/Shield adds the warriors blocking skill (gained from his shield) to his target. Up to two Warriors can shield the same target, but that's the limit.
