Shield Blocking and skill caps

this thread probably belongs in the Class & Gear subforum.

But I think the only way to raise your shield block skill(if it is determined by ACx2) is to get a higher AC shield.

Some shields allow you to add an augment. If you up the AC with an augment, will you then up the chance to block?

The question is not about a skill mod or about raising the skill. Perhaps I stated the question poorly.

With there being a limit to the amount of bonus that can be applied to a skill (ie. +25 cap from items), does that limit then apply to the "bonus shield blocking skill" that one gets from a shield (ie. ACx2). So then with that cap in mind, would a 12 AC shield give just as much blocking (capped at +25 to the skill) as a 50 AC shield, or does that skill limit cap not apply as it pertains to shield blocking?

Danku also raises a good question as well.

No. the cap of a total of +25 to a certain skill only applies to skill mods that say "+XX to a specific skill"
