Shaman AA Healing Sleep

After having experimented with Healing Sleep over the last 6 months I have yet to find a worthwhile use for it. The only thing that makes this worth having prior to First Aid is the fun you can have making people crumple to the ground. The psuedo FD makes it only useful as a no mana down time heal and even there it is of limited utility as I can Woundbane the MT to full in 2 casts and still be FM before any other caster in my group or raid due to cani (/em braces for the calls to nerf cani). Id like to offer 3 possible changes for discussion and consideration:

Option 1: Change the FD to a slow and/or snare, add silence and add a time duration. This gives the shaman a HoT that isnt self only and has significant drawbacks without making it useless. I believe this is the most viable option as it gives the shaman another heal in his somewhat limited repetior but by severly limiting the capablilites of the target while under the spell you arent just giving cotb to shamen.

Option 2: Make it self only and make the FD a true FD. The slow casting speed and long cool down would make it useless for pulling but give the shaman a possible means to dump agro and heal back up if they slow too soon or over heal.

Option 3: Add slow and/or snare and make it a zero agro heal so it can be used on FD characters. I realize the reason behind the current state of healing FD characters was brough about by the abuse of FD mechanics and healing to avoid anti power leveling systems but like the real FD option the slow casting speed and long cool down would make it impracticle not to mention limited to 65 shaman.

I realize that not every AA is going to be the best or most useful but as it stands Healing Sleep is only really good for entertaining myself at Mallas' expense and you only need it at the first rank for that.
 
Shaman don't need more DPS, and mobs can only be debuffed so far. A no-agro long range, long recast HoT with a snare/root or FD component would be great, and help on pulls since most pullers have a pocket shaman.
 
Well... ive been discussing this.. and came with an idea, its absurd, but an idea:

A FD AA: recast like 10 secs and its instant..
and it takes about 100-200 hp..
a Canni FD


Well since
Monk > Pure melee FD
SK > Hybrid FD
Necro > Caster FD

No shaman a healer FD!

I know its absurd but its a great idea and make sense to all 4 types of class have a fd
 
The only way that recast timers can be adjusted is through the appropriate time reduction AAs. Doing otherwise would change the client and they cant change the client.
 
Imo change it to zombify. Makes target to a slow moving zombie. Can have it work like HoT or means to lose aggro or something, but the important part is turning into a zombie.
 
You realize that most mobs that can be snared can be rooted right? And mobs that cant be rooted/snared often just summon you anyways if they are snared or rooted, especially at the level that you can obtain this skill. And why the hell would you want to use this as a get a way tool when you could just root a mob?
 
I guess that would make it all worth it. Imma grind a shaman to 65 just so I can turn something into a zombie if this gets implemented.
 
This aa really is useless and I dont know of anyone who uses it. Myself I havent even bothered getting it at 260 aa´s. Ie Im in favor of either improving it, changing it slightly so that it becomes useful or to change it into something completely different.

out of malleus options I dont like option 1 because of the silence aspect.. this could be abused in cities to make annoying people shut up for a while.. however option 2 and 3 both sounds like good options. On the FD thought as it stands atm shamans rarely use our rezes at raids, but with this I can see us becoming a bit more useful in that aspect, also as a way of shaking agro that sounds nice.. out of option 2 and 3 actually both of them sounds good and Id like to see either of them implemented.
