Shadowknight's Loathing Guard style.

I've mentioned this a few times in other 'Make Shadowknights Stronger' threads, but always seems to be ignored or over looked, and after a discussion last night with Aratar, I decided to try one last time.

The Shadowknight style 'Loathing Guard' makes the Shadowknight take 20% less damage (supposedly). Sounds great, but it lasts approximatly 1 minute, maybe a little more, before your stamina is completly drained (this is with Ancient: Sihalas Gift, best stamina conserver in the game). I have never used this since the stlye was changed, It simply doesn't last long enough to justify ever using it. No raid mobs are ever dead in a minute, and if i wanted to use this in groups, I would have to sit and regen stamina after every fight, which is approximatly 5 minutes, maybe longer.

That being said, its worth noting that no other Shadowknight style helps the user tank, reduce damage, except for Defensive style, which all classes get. I know Paladins get another alternative tanking style, but for Shadowknights, its defensive, or loathing guard. Now, unless the Shadowknight is doomed to simply defensive, something needs to change, the past SK threads have shown me that we will never get a DPS increase.

Side Gripe: Alot of the Shadowknight styles are somewhat useless due to the high stamina usage, but I'll let them go for another day.

It's high stamina because it's 20%. If it lasted the entire raid fight SKs would eclipse warriors for tanking.

I realize that, I wasnt asking it to be low stamina for 20% reduction in damage, I was hoping that it could be changed so that its slightly useful. As to what, Im not sure, but as of right now, its useless.

I'm just curious, but you do realize you can use it and switch it off for defensive when endurance gets low?

I do this a lot on my monk with Walk whenever fighting something that hits hard.

Also uh, you don't get endurance back faster by sitting, so you seem a little confused.

I always forget to switch out of a style, that's why I made a macro:

/style 7
/pause 600
/style 3

I really like that macro.
