ShadowKnight Spear line

I swear. They must decrease aggro! I cast 2 spears, 2 dots, 2 terror spells on a DHK mob, and I lost aggro to a Celestial Elixer + 2 Ethereal Light casts from a cleric. Plus the spear spells don't generate nearly enough aggro as they should. Terror of Marlow costs 51 mana no damage, Spear of Agony costs 200 mana and does like 700ish damage, but not even half the hate is generated by Agony.

That's because you're doing damage with your spear line and absolutely no damage with terror line, if you want to build aggro chain cast your ( up to ) four terror spells for a minute, you won't be losing aggro. And if you do, you're doing sometihng wrong =/

Uh, Terror of Marlow is a pure hate spell. If you want to hold aggro, use it and the other Terror spells.

Honestly, wtf

On my 59 SK, i rarely lose aggro. When it does happen its because im playing on my druid bot too long. It only takes 2-3 spells to guarantee you aggro throughout the whole fight (with an average group). Pull with your darkness line, when group begins to engage it cast an ac or atk debuff, then terror as needed. Pretty simple. An SK has no excuse to lose aggro. Ever. imo

Jose fails at life again

Fuck that. I've chained terrors upon terrors along with cmal3 gloves and the agro AA and still lots agro to stupid shit.

I've honestly never seen or heard of Hodge losing aggro, and neither has Honch, a 99% attendance raider in Legacy, and it's not like he has any means of aggro Jose doesn't, since SKs do not increase their aggro with gear. On the other hand, the competing aggro sources he has to deal with are usually a much bigger rival than most anything Jose has to deal with, so I'm not quite following how this is possible except through sheer ineptitude.

Wow, nice little remark there.
Now, I could be wrong, and I have been before, but these have an agro mod on them, and Hodge has a pair. (feel free to correct me on that zodium)
Checking my logs on raids, where coltaine is the tank, using Wailfury and Ytraz, colt has LOST agro. Wailfury procs about 1/8 hits (don't quote me on that, but thats what shows in my logs, for ~425 points of agro. Add in his cmal3 gloves, and thats some damn decent agro. But he still loses it. It happens. I wasn't saying I lose agro often, I was saying it happens.

I'm the one behind Hodge 90% of the time he's used in a raid setting with Legacy.

Hodge fucking owns Coltaine's aggro, no doubt about it.

Hodge has lost aggro exactly once, and it seemed to be a complete fluke because i pulled with the AA shadow of assault and brandy was just beginning to cast a spell and got summoned.

Other than that one time, Hodge has never lost aggro to anyone, and we have wizards with 6k mana who love chain nuking :(

Ineptitude happens. To err is human, there's nothing wrong with it. Coltaine is also not an SK, and Warriors have nothing on SKs as far as aggro goes. Not even Linken or Coltaine.

I'm not saying agro is wrong or anything like that. I'm saying its possible to lose agro. I have also out agro'd two of our wizards chain nuking as much as they could, without concussing. The agro problems i've had were while heal agro was quirky, so that could have been the problem.

EDIT: The reference to colt losing agro was supposed to be a reference to flukes, and how they happen.

Your reference is completely flawed.

Coltaine losing aggro isn't a fluke, it's not that great. People need to monitor their aggro with a warrior tank, you shouldn't need to with an SK tank.

With an SK tank that have even the slightest idea of what they are doing

Yep, you are totally right, I have no idea what I'm doing whatsoever.

I wasnt referring to you Jose. It was a generalized statement based on my recent observations of several actual noobies

Dont be so defensive :sadf:

You think some SKs are bad with aggro... I've lost count of how many mid level paladins I've come across who complain about losing aggro all the time. When you hear the line "Why would I use cease? I want to hold aggro, not stun mobs" you can't help laughing.

But I agree with Jose, there do seem to be times when aggro gets a little quirky. Maybe there's something about the group dynamic that changes it, maybe it's little localized bugs. No idea. One thing that I used to think was a bog that I've figured out, though, is increased aggro from remezes. A lot of people still don't seem to grasp (as I didn't until a few weeks ago) that the aggro generated by recasting debuffs is almost nil if it lands before the original one wears off. If, however, the original spell wears off and then you cast it again, it generates full aggro. This goes for mezes, as well, leading to what I've heard Maimai and others refer to as a mez aggro bug. If the chanter in your group mezzed a mob, then either got behind or had it broken and had to remez it while it was active again, that's going to be a crapload of aggro on the chanter. If some shaman or something in your group is a complete jackass and dotted the add (guilty as charged on at least one occasion, your honor), and you get several breaks and remezes... your tank isn't getting aggro. Root the damn mob and make sure your chanter has rune up.

There are other times when I've been unable to get or hold aggro when it doesn't seem to make sense. I certainly don't have an explanation for it, but you really never know--maybe there's some other factor like the debuff recast timing that's causing it.
