Settling on a Duo!

Hi folks!

Just got SoD booted up, and am trying to settle on a duo for a friend and myself. We aren't in a huge hurry to get to end-game, just want to be able to plod along at a decent pace and explore as much content as possible. My friend is fairly settled on the Cleric (wildly popular I've seen in the forums) and I am trying to figure which of the tanks would be best to pair up with him. Knowing that we are just starting out and don't have the resources to twink, something that won't be crippled til they are geared would be ideal. Thanks for any information/and or suggestions you the community can provide!

monk / sk / paladin / beastlord / bard


you guys would prob have better luck if you both 2 boxed, but those classes should own as a duo with cleric *pretty much every class owns with cleric*
 
Well, since he is playing a cleric and you are set on one of the three tanks, go with an SK. Mainly for the ability to split. I'd steer clear of a warrior since they are heavily gear dependent later on and a paladin would be a great choice if your group was bigger, but for a basic 2 man duo you can't go wrong with SK/Cleric.
 
Tanks = boring...
Let your friend tank on his cleric and play a Mage...

he forgot ranger.

before you say it: YES HE DID.

also: any class owns with a cleric. but monk/sk would probably be best for strictly duo.
 
depending on if you or both want to 2 box I would reccomend you play mage and beastlord have him play cleric and if you really want a tank have him play one. Between the BL and the 2 pets there is plenty of ability to tank most things on your way up as well as good dps and a lot of fun.

you - paladin & shaman
friend - monk & cleric

Grats - you can do all the content in the game outside of raid zones from now to eternity.

Fixed that for you velleity. Add two random dps and you are GOOD TO GO.
