Hello all,

I just played SoD for the first time last night and while i think SoD is a great concept and has great community the server performance was very poor. It was taking very long ammounts of time to zone, loot, mobs were warping all over the place as well as players. Is this normal for this server? If not how long has this problem been going on? Thanks for any info you can supply.

Its normal until there are enough mothnly donation to get a second server.

Last night was the exception, not the general rule.

At peak play times, there are sometimes instances where the server lags, and you'll have a few moments of lag. When these happen, it's maybe a few times an hour for a couple hours. They're planning for a second server which they say will allow support for about 3x as many users, but the donations currently aren't quite enough to afford it.

Last night was almost a constant lag; I have no idea what was causing it (server, network, etc.). It's very, very rare that we have that kind of lag (last time I think it was attributed to a bad network router somewhere).
 
Last night it was the worst lag I ever experienced, in fact they rebooted the server ibecause ti was getting very bad, I really think that kind of lag is an exception.
Normally I only have very occasional lag (unless I 2 box.)
 
Could be severe internet traffic, we've noticed very slow internet speeds in the school district I work in. We're clean of viruses but we noticed internet browsing was horribly slow. There is a new virus all over the internet right now too ... I always keep up to date with that with:

http://isc.sans.org/

You can see the pie chart to the right with the breakdown of traffic, when it's in the red like that (other, non-typical traffic) that usually means there's a wild virus flooding networks. Fun fun!

I'm chippin in my :10bux: bucks a month. I recently started playing and really like the server. I played a Troll Warrior on Live years ago. I was about to start up another Live account, but decided to try this out. I'm a casual gamer and I don't have alot of time. I started an Ogre Shadowknight and so far no corpse runs, band aids, more lower level quest, experience debt and being able to pay it off have made this game fun for me again.
