Ahoy!

Got bored, wanted to do newbie monk quest in Freeport. Ran around Everfrost for ~45 minutes looking for Vastann so I could meditate with him and his super cool self. Ran all over everfrost. blackburrow tunnels, caves on the north part of the river, by permafrost, the little snow vallies... I covered everything but the bottom of the frozen river.

Does he actually exist? Can I get a hint? Noone online had an answer.
 
I did this with my newbie monk, I finally found him out in the tundra to the very south on a hill.
It also takes about 10 minutes of real time meditation with him before he does anything.

Hopefully that sorta helps.

this guy can be found in Everfrost (between halas and blackburrow) at coords -1232, -3856. he's just before you cross the frozen river. he's on top of a hill near the wall (not exactly on top...a little bit below the top).

do not practice sense heading. do not talk in ooc. do not do anything. just sit down, hail him, then set your timer for 10 minutes. you'll get a text message stating that he dropped something on the ground. it's a small bag will be about 2-3 bodylengths below him. when you pick it up, it's a note you give back to the air_somethingorother lady you got the quest from. hand her the note and you get your robe.

note to newbies. getting across blackburrow is a b*tch! if you are human, there are some completely dark parts of the tunnel coming out of bb and into everfrost. USE YOUR MAP! you don't need a torch! Sow is god on this quest. if you get aggro coming out of bb, run to halas and zone. if you keep getting smashed, the only other thing i could tell you is to get fixed duration invis. i did this quest at level 9 and died 5 times.

ps there are no wandering mobs near the meditating guy.

pss bind yourself either at the centaur hills side of blackburrow or if you know you are going to make it, bind yourself right next to the quest giver in Newport. once you get your note from meditating, just die and boom, insta porting.
