Sense/Disarm traps....

I've been searching for a week on where to advance my skills in disarm/sense trap and I get the same answers from every Rogue.

"Its worthless"
"My sense trap hasn't gone up in three months"
"Disarm trap skills up way too slow for the amount of time you spend waiting on the respawn"

I don't have the answers nor a plan on how to fix this, but lets get a discussion going on this so we can figure something out. It sucks when my guild tells me to disarm a trap on a raid, and I reply saying I cant because Ive wasted hours on end skilling up Disarm Trap 3 points, got sick and impatient, and left.

Pick lock didn't bother me at all...I felt the amount of time I invested in that skill was well worth it. Hell, I use Pick Lock more than I use most other class related skills.

To back up Baker, I myself can't justify finding the time to skillup disarm trap. This is also aside from the fact that sense traps hasn't skilled up in months. No other rogue skill is this rediculously hard to raise. I'd like to see something like the pick lock doors in the np rogue guild, but for trap disarm. A set of 30sec - 1min respawning traps with minimal downside to failing to practice on. But I must again reiterate that sense traps hasn't gone up in months, and as mine is currently at 122, alot of traps I can skillup on are impossible to even find. This first and foremost should be looked at, and then after that the spawnrate.

At this point, I'm not exactly worried about seeing the highers tiers of content for a while, but as a 65 rogue with solid AA's, I wouldn't think it'd be unreasonable to have my services requisitioned if I had trap disarm maxed as has happened with my lock picking.


P.S. on the topic of rogue skills, with maxed pick lock and +5 from probe, I still find doors that say my skill is too low to pick. This puzzles me as I am not aware of any other +picklock items in the game, and it seems that if they werent meant to be picked at all, they could be set to be unpickable as some doors are. Is there something I'm missing or is it a bug or are things just operating as intended?

sense traps caps at 250 or 200? mines at 200, but i practiced that before lvl 50 and when you could get skill ups without traps around.

i don't have problems finding zones/whatnot to skill up so far regarding disarming traps if i feel like failing traps 5 times over to get maybe 2 skill points and then die from the traps triggering on me then go back find another trap and rise/repeat! :toot: but my disarm skill is only about 80 /shrug. a couple traps i know of that do not include me dieing or close death that i can skill up on; i can never get a precise timer so sometimes i go and find maybe 1 or 2 traps and that's it and have to run to another zone. i recall majk/lufia having a tough time trying to find the 200+ disarm trap spots from posts they made in the past.

haven't really found a point to skill up disarm traps any further than what im at since no raids really need the skill that i've seen so far. if i'm bored to death i sometimes do it...
