Seeking a guild.

Empireof1

Dalayan Beginner
I'm relatively new to EQ in general(played for a bit in 04, didn't like the snooty attitudes of players), and when I stumbled upon this site during one of my searches, I felt the need to try this.

I recently reinstalled EQ, and intend on starting a Cleric as soon as the patching process has ended. I'd like to find a guild friendly to new players. Now that doesn't mean that I want platinum and items handed to me, but I want people who are willing and able to answer a myriad of questions.

Please?

I understand that, but I am referring to a guild outside of that. A beginner's guild can only take you so far.

imho your best off staying in the beginners guild. you can ask questions there and get other help/groups. when you get some more experience with sod and levels then you should seek a guild suitable for you. just browse trough any of the topics listed above here, i am sure there is one that suits you.

Loads of experienced and friendly people stay in Dalaya's Beginners for a very long time. It's not some kind of sandbox for lil kiddies, if that's how you perceived it.

If you don't know the game at least somewhat well, then you'll probably have a hard time finding a guild that will fit your playing style and preferences.

It took my magi up to his 60s.
You can use the time in the beginning guild to help people get to know you. You would be amazed how many of the higher guild's players actually keep toons in the DB guild as they are leveling, just to help find good people they think would be a fine addition to their guild.

While it's true you won't go to many DB raids, it is also true that you probably wont be on many raids in any other guild until higher levels even if you could join them at a much lower level: simply because you need levels for resists/ being able to stick to the mob.

Your best bet is to hang out with the DB people, get to know SoD's people and ways of doing things, and make sure you make a good name for yourself. That way, when it comes time to apply to the guild you decide is best for you, they will have a much better chance to actually know who you are.
