Scholar and Misery Robe

Two questions!

First off, Ruin has been on a High Scholar Dalish binge recently, and we are curious why for his difficulty he only drops one loot. Dont get me wrong, he is one of the easiest mobs in zone, but there are easier than him that drop 2. Does he only drop 1 because of his proximity to livia? Also, his loot table in general only has 1 item that people are after when they kill him, so I dont see how him dropping 1 loot with a 1/5 chance of getting something useful is realistic.

Second, we recently had drop a robe drop in misery. The following link-

We noticed that the effect on it is combat, is it supposed to be a clicky?

Many thanks in advance.

I would guess it's a reactive proc when being attacked. I didn't design the item so I'm not 100% sure, but with the effect it has I'd say that's a good chance.

His items are really good for his difficulcy, ergo he drops few of them. Ylaak uses the same logic.

The robe has a chance to proc when you are hit.

The reason they get such lucrative tank stats is that it doesn't matter. At that level, they're dead if they have aggro for more than a tick or two.

Bearing this in mind, what's the point of a combat effect on a robe at this level?

That you might get hit, and if you do, jinx can very well save your life? :?

Not to mention that it's a fun and unique effect on an item?

I guess what I was 'pointing out' was that if you're going to die in a tick or two, what are the odds of a proc?
Also I guess I was wrong on what Jinx does - the spell DB suggests it is a bind sight, which I guess is wrong from what you're saying(?).

If the DB is wrong, and Wiz just told you what it was, you could go ahead and correct the DB mistake. You have the ability to do that, assuming you're talking about the Wiki. And I don't see what the big deal is about the proc on this robe, quite nice to have a chance they will miss their next attack, gives you a little time to:

1. Nuke the mob dead before you are
2. Get off a gate to get the heck out of there
3. If you're a Wizard get off a TL out
4. If you're an Enchanter get off a Mez
5. If you're a Necro, better chance to get off Feign Death

There are quite a few options that could fit in to it. Granted int casters typically cannot stay up very long, but if that item proc's at just the right time(s) and you survive because of it, wouldn't it be considered your saving grace for that instance? ... think of it as those times when you're in the purple and get hit with a complete heal ... "omg I can't believe that happened" :)

I don't think the Wiki lists spells generally, rather it seems to link to the spell DB at http://sod.camongrel.de/ (that's where it linked me).
And yeah, obviously the chance to miss the next attack round is infinitely more useful than a 'bind sight' proc. (The spell DB was indeed wrong.)
No-one made a 'big deal' about the proc... especially understanding what it actually is. Wiz's original answer that it is 'fun' and has a little chance to save your life makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the patronising tone though.

The 'Bind Sight' effect only works on a PC (keep that in mind for PvP chanters).

Jinx makes the next round of attacks miss, so does Vex, and I would KILL to have a Jinx proc on any tank chest item, but that would be retardly overpowered. Its a great effect and can save your life in the right circumstance.

Aw god dammit. I was planning to put a robe with a vex proc on it in the next quest line I do. Fuckin beaten to the punch by a butt robe.

I've still got non-monk usable gloves that proc a 1.5 second cast time resist fire, called barbed bloodsteel gloves, how bout throwin some love their way? :3

Interesting insurance effect to combine with death pact/ devine benevolence since their percentages are less than favorable. Even then you die if hit for more than the refilling hp amount.
