Scaled Boots of Escape

I'll just make this short. These boots (keep in mind they drop off of Taeshlin) need to be better (at the very least bump the AC up to 30+:

Scaled Boots of Escape

MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: FEET
AC: 19
Effect: Taeshlin's Escape (Must Wear Clicky, 1.0)
STR: +7 DEX: +10 STA: +7 WIS: +20 AGI: +20 HP: +125 MANA: +75
Damage Reduction: +3
Weight: 0.4 Size: Small
Class: RNG DRU MNK BRD ROG SHM BST
Race: ALL

I would suggest making the AC to 30+ and/or making the effect more useful universally (haste? dont flame me). Let me know if you want proof/comparisons.

Thanks!

Aeran

Hooray, a short post by Aeran!

Indeed, these boots seem pretty lackluster. They seem initially to be only dps classes, but druid is on there for some reason. The clicky is a cancel magic on yourself, which is wonky wonky. I'm not sure what they need, but it seems they need something.

A self dispel really isn't all that useful. Now a targeted dispel on the other hand...

So you could dispell other peoples buffs?

The boots have DR3 and super cool stats. I don't see what the issue is.

The point that I think he is trying to make is that the boots, while good, are not of the caliber expected from one of the most difficult completed encounters in the game so far, ie Taeshlin the Guardian.

The same way say, an enchanter can?

Somehow, I fail to see this as any sort of concern.

We .... know that.

The boots are fine, I don't know how you consider the ability to... say, dispell root (and other debuffs) off yourself *not* useful. It's certainly worth having a bit weaker stats in my book.

If the item balance on SoD has a weakness, it's that you guys hand out too many clickies. Clickies are ridiculously powerful. Self 1-second dispelling is probably the second best clicky I've ever seen, possibly the best.

Madness! Self-dispel is insanely useful, and making any item at all ever have a targeted dispel would be a mind-blowingly bad move.

Aye, that is a great pulling tool right there if it ever existed.

I dunno... having 19 ac (compared to boots from far, far, far easier mobs with 25-27) makes me ;(

The fact that noone in this thread even seems to understand what the clicky does is sad.

It has a 5 min recast and gives a message somewhat like, "you feel cleansed" or something. I snared, rooted, and dotted myself and it took away snare/root but not the dot (immolate). It didnt cure greater wyrven poison, so I'm assuming its for root/snare type stuff. I can see this being useful on like glib (once, lol) and the 4th manifestation, none of which really makes a terrible difference (considering its 5 minute recast and those are special situations where the clicky isnt required).
