Hello all,

Saying hello to the WR community, you guys have done a great job with this.

I quit eq around febuary, I got fed up paying for beta testing their game, and no support, but was a good run (3 years)

Was a bit of change, when I found my high elf enchanter in erudin =p and trying to find my way back to felwithe(HOME! hehe)
I played a enchanter on live, lvl 65, 112AA, and I really do miss it, but, being a noob again does bring back the memories.
If any new enchanters need any tips/strategies, please feel free to /tell me in game, and i'll help ya all that I can(I've had ALOT of experience =p)

Anyways, i've blabbered enough, and hope to see you in game!

6 enchanter of Winters Roar

Hello!

... Uhm.

If you have any questions, I'll likely not know the answer, but feel fee to ask. ;)

Welcome, Xavier. We're always happy to have another player here on Winter's Roar. Hope you have as much fun as we do. :)

welcome to the server. This is a copy of a post I did for another person who played an enchanter on WR. There are some changes on spells that are different than live. Hope it helps:

1.) You will find many changes from live especially for enchanter class. At least from when I played on live. All racial illusions, skeleton and some others are able to cast on others. Charisma is not only important for charming, but you will also find on WR that charisma affects the resists of your spells. As by now you have found out that your basic pet is controllable as a normal mage/necro pet. At the higher levels you will find that C2 and group C2 are higher level than on live. So be prepared for long use of clarity. You will also find two new WR special mezzes. These are able to mez things which are normally immune to mez. The exception being Golems and other "mindless". Three other spells which are 50 plus are Sapping curse, Striking curse and Rending curse. These spells are unresistable and have huge impacts on a creature. Sapping causes a creature to loose all defense abilities (riposte, block, dodge) for a moderate amount of time. It will not stop Enrage however from what I have seen. Striking curse is the melees dream. It allows for all melee damage done to a creature to be doubled while the curse is on it. Rending is similar except all spell damage is doubled. Both Striking and Rending have brief durations. Fear does not work on WR, due to pathing issue at least so far. Pet spells do not require a spell component, however you will find that rune spells do require one. Something also different from live is the AC "Haze" line of buff spells. These have been replaced with illusions spells. (illusion:leather, Illusion:chainmail, Illusion:platemail) The final in the line umbra is unchanged. These illusion spells give the AC bonus of the normal line but also gives the illusion of wearing the named type of armor. These will not stack with other illusions, so you won't be a Werewolf in plate. However, It is fun to be a caster in something other than a robe once in awhile. Hope this helps on your adventures in WR. If you ever have any questions, feel free to send me a tell in game and I will try to answer any question as best as i can.

thanks

Wow, thank you for the warm welcome, nice community you got here.

Thanks Cham for that info, I figured there was alot of differences between live/WR chanters, but, to say the least, it's neat what the devs have done with our spells and class. This should be interesting!

On a side note, is CC that important in WR? I mean, high end on live, CC was irrelevant becasue sony had the gall to flag mobs immune/highly resistant to mez's, and, not to turn this into a whine fest, I enjoy the abilty to turn a dire situation into a victory with a well placed spell or 2, but just couldn't do it because the tools/lack there of that sony decided to give us. At least we get unresistable mezzes, at least I know that I can do my job here(OK, done blabbering, I could go on!)

Thanks for your time.

(gonna go try and play and hope the 20 second LD bug don't bite! See you in game!)

Here's how we solved the CC mess. The normal dazzle and stuff works up to level 54 on mobs, then you get a line of high end mezzes - starting with Blissful Apathy, that have short durations (< 10 ticks) but work on high end mobs. That way, you can CC even mobs in places like PoTorment, without it trivializing everything. There are level limits though - you can't mez a dragon. ;)
