okay so when vah first came out, salves only dropped from trash. then they were added to bosses and made rarer from the trash. years later, i think this is a poor design. it basically made poearth a zone rarely raided by on-tier people since the named are always down. it also promotes camping silly 7 day spawns and things of that nature.

salves still do drop from trash, very rarely. i've probably killed 300 poearth trash mobs and have seen 3 salves. i think increasing the droprate a bit would be best for everyone involved.

(also, the zone could use a ZEM)

by the way, i call this "emberflow syndrome." putting irreplaceable items that overtier people will farm basically makes the zone unusable by on-tier people. lower thaz may become another example

The fact that these salves have now also been recycled as part of the pariah aug quest series does not help matters. Pariah vah questers can now look forward to camping 5 salves in PoEarth. Plus folks who have already done the vah or who don't plan on doing the vah but are pariah will now be competing for salves as well.

Low drop rates don't make sense. If someone is powerful enough to kill something, luck shouldn't become a factor that holds the player back from attaining upgrades. Its hard enough to advance in this game. I think I first knew I wanted to play something else after a large amount of clears of plane of nightmare worms for Nautilus silk. That specific problem was fixed, I guess... after a whole lot of bitching that is. The fact is that this game puts such a heavy emphasis on gear at all levels, skill doesn't become a factor until the very-most endgame of raid fights. Rare quest drops just trivialize skill even more and put an emphasis on player's luck and how much time they have to keep track of trash timers. I feel like I could do an Allen Iverson style rant about trash timers.

I always felt that in cases like this there should be an alternative harder set of quests for the salves. Like a hard six man quest that doesn't involve farming raid mobs well below your tier.

Speaking from a bias of someone who has just started getting into the Vah quest, the rarity of the salves has been the main factor in me not actively pursuing the vah.

Because they are kept on absolute lockdown by one group of people. Another solution would be to randomize the spawn times more.

just for a frame of reference, today I brought a group into poearth and we killed most of the zone, 184 mobs to be exact, and we got one salve.

I've had Very good luck on salves from the brownies, there is the veteran camp
and also another camp north of that. 1-2 a clear ntb

I'm beyond fed up with the salves drop rate and That The POEarth bosses are always down. I have a tracked up there but it's always empty. I still have 3 salves to get to be flagged for Shar Vahl so it's pretty sad This is the only thing holding me back. ED sword and sextant are cakewalks compared to these salves. The people that swore to Sihala lucked out because they just need to get 4 beads from POWater which drop pretty commonly from trash.

Please up the drop rate on salves and/or change the pariah Aug to not need this salve. This is a really bad bottleneck for many.

T5/6 zone is now a Tpoopsock zone. It is shame on tier guilds cannot raid here due to the mobs being constantly down.
