Runewood Greaves drops off of The Haunted Treant, an adept for level 32s while Greaves of the Ancient drops off of Traek. I am unconfortable with seeing that +85 hp for leveled up Runewood Greaves, as Greaves of the Ancient also hits +85 hp. Actually, it is not so much that they both have the same HP as it is that Runewood Greaves go from 12ac to 20, 50hp to 85, while Greaves of the Ancient has a much less intense gain, resulting in two items of the same slot starting out relatively far apart in quality and ending up closer together. I believe that Greaves of the Ancient is fine where it is, but Runewood Greaves need a nerf, and this is purely objective as I intend on grabbing Runewood Greaves on an alt regardless of what happens

Perhaps the Greaves of the Ancient just need a couple levels added to them? They seem to be one of the few items with a straight + per level, perhaps they should be switched to a % instead. Either of those would fix them, w/o over-powering them. They are still better for a war/pal, due to the sta/agi/resists they have over the Runewood.

P.S. Lol, Zae typed quicker...

I look at it like this:

Runewood Greaves have no STA. STA is big pre-raid, especially for tanks. Greaves of the Ancient have far more resists, and more melee stats in general. If you want to go by 1AC=5HP, Runewood Greaves are 185 whereas Greaves of the Ancient are 215 at max levels; still a fair bit better tank-wise. STA adds to that lead, of course.

But the main thing would be this: people farm Traek. There is not much to stand against going full AAs at 55 and farming the adepts if you want to. Staying under engage limits for lower level adepts is much more restrictive, and gathering a group to do them is likely more difficult since there isn't a whole mini-community waiting to take them down complete with highly AA'd, expensive ikisith-gear-wearing mini-ringers.

So I don't mind if there are a few choice items that get really good for people who bother to do lower adepts and luck out in seeing them drop before moving on.

Thank you for the response I agree wholeheartedly

Also Ranseur smells

You never complained before, as long as you got your savage buff. And you suck, leveling past the lvl 25 adepts on your monk.
