Rotting Plague Problem

alright, i know wiz that you are gonna be angry with this post heh because it has to deal with resist rates

im working on the Main Quest part 4 where you have to gain the trust of the seekers. ok so i decide that i wanna try to get the rotting plague for an easy one out of the way. so i head on out to west badlands to the gnoll camp. so i get there and have one of the gnolls beat on me, and i keep resisting the rotting plague proc. so i look over at my resists and they are sitting at 135 (from gear) so im like arg no wonder i was resisting. so i take off all my disease gear, still resisting. cast Scent of Terris (disease debuff) on myself which puts me at -18 dr. still resisting. i gather a bunch around and they all start beating on me, still resisting, but a shammy gnoll casts insidious Decay which lowered my disease resist even more, to -43 dr. so im like ok i have to get it now, but sadly, no, still no rotting plague, i seem to be immune =( here's some of the log i took, but believe me i was trying for a while before i took the log.

are there any mid 40's mobs that possibly proc rotting plague?

The Plague Worshippers, Plague Priests, and Frenzied Worshippers in Eastern Plaguelands all proc rotting plague frequently (they are dark blue to lvl 65, though)

I had this problem too, so I went out to plaguelands and grabbed me a mob. I just let it wail on me and I healed myself. Luckily I'm a cleric. Unluckily, I grabbed about 10 of his friends, so I started training them to zone. One of them managed to land it on me right before I hit the zoneline, and I zoned a happy camper.

What does Rotting Plague actually do? I keep reading about it.. but I never read about what it does other than when wiz changed it to be a soul bound debuff or something.

A quick way to get it is have a lower level get hit with it, or with lower resistance, and duel them. They'll proc it then, too.

Why would anyone want it?

the scorpions also proc it in the badlands.... a bit gentler than the humanoids =)

For some reason mobs in Storms Eye and Dragonhorn now also give you rotting plague. damn do i hate that plague

No mobs in SE or DHK proc it hahaha... just think about it a second.

If i remember right some of the mobs in first ruins cast rotting pluage(well the undead did at any rate). As a word of warning I haven't played since october so that could well have been easilly changed.

While in SE very recently someone complained of getting rotting plague. So it's possible. Doesn't mean the mobs spawn with the plague though.......

Apparently you don't know how plagues spread. It's very possible mobs in DHK or SE have the plague.

Id bet anything a player on the raid has it, not the mobs.

<Edit> And I say this because Venerate has been in DHK more frequently than anyone else as of late, and have never encountered the plague while in the zone.

If a person has the plague, a mob gets it and then gives it back to the players. It's a vicious cycle. I don't know how many of you played EQ2 but there was a worldwide plague that sucked, this is like a more enduring, less contagious version.

Yeah I remember that... it was the gameplay.

Probably people that hit the mob in SE or DHK before dying...then mobs spread it to newcomers.
I remember being hit my a liglt blue con'ing elephant lately with my warrior and I got this plague, though it was not corrupted or anything. I guess this is the mean of spreading these days.
