Rohk, Citadel and other similar augs

I had been told that Rohk augs could be petitoned if you removed them from an item but when I did remove one and it poofed I was told it was not a quested item and therefore could not be replaced.

Just to be sure, is that correct?

What is the situation for the Eye of the Citadel as again I'm not sure if this would count as a quest but I could be wrong and just don't know the quest giver.

Given that both types of aug are lore and take some effort to acquire, seems a bit harsh to lose them when you upgrade.

Apologies if this question already been answered but searched on various terms and couldn't find anything.

Rax has a very good point.
Patch notes, aug removed, with indication in game. Less confusion, less petitions, less work while setting a precedent with paper trail in case it comes up again.
 
I agree. I had about 5 rohk augs deleted, and they were left in the gear I don't want them in. So basically I lost them all.

The difference here is that Rohk augs poofed from day 1, while Glowing Shards did not poof. So there really should not have been need for informing anyone about Rohk augs poofing, since there was no change whatsoever.

And I'll state the obvious here: Overgrowth augs poof on deaug as well, and did so from day 1.
 
sure, but they were changed to be one per character. some people were jailed until they decided which item they wanted them in. other people had them deleted seemingly at random
 
Just to clarify,

The Rohk gems are lore in game but not on fomelo so:

can you have 2 of the same type in pants and robe
can you save any unused duplicate gems in bank until needed

because, if not then any time you upgraded pants or chest you would need to farm new gems and if Iki 2 comes out or similar then there will be a tremendous logjam of OCD people farming Rohk.

Ideally I guess you should NOt be allowed to have 2 of the same equipped but be allowed to store gems for future upgrades

Is the Eye of the Citadel counted as a quest item or not?

You cannot own more than 1 of any Rohk aug at any time including those already put into your gear. So yes you're right it's a big pain in the ass and if you upgrade a piece where you had an aug you now need to destroy the one in the old piece of gear and get another one.

You can not loot any rohk aug you allready possess, augged or not.

Eye of the Citadel is in fact flagged as a quest item.
