Rod of Living Fire

Im checking to see if this item is along the lines with the difficulty of the quest to get. The stats are:

MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: PRIMARY SECONDARY
Effect: Aura of Living Fire (Must Wear Clicky, 3.0)
Focus Effect: Damage Increment IV
CHA: +10 INT: +15 AGI: +10 HP: +60 MANA: +100
SV COLD: +25
Weight: 3.2 Size: Small
Class: NEC WIZ MAG ENC
Race: ALL

The clicky is FT3 with 8?DS that stacks w/ everything. The quest involves nothing more than a solid group and some spots just a good duo. I dont think this drop that can be gotten by a solid group should be considerably better than pieces that are dropped from raids that require 20-30 guild members to invest a couple hours in dhk.

My suggestion is to place the red dragon scales on a mob that needs an actual raid to kill, or to halve the int and mana.

Raret

It had 20mana dropped off.

Nonetheless, the red scale is rare as hell, and I believe the quest is currently in line with the difficulty.

I think the item is mostly balanced for its difficulty.

Its a fairly long quest and the primary use of the wand is for its clicky. 80-90%++ of the people who have this are in the raid game.

i would say that the primary use is for more than the clicky, the stats are very comparable to book of the arch magi which you just said was the 2nd best handheld in the game. 5 int 70 mana, which is lessened more by the FT3 you get from the clicky. since 80-90% of the people are the ones with this the average raid fight is what 3 min? on average 3 mana every tick for 180 seconds =90 mana which is roughly 5int 75 mana

What if the mana-regen effect was changed to (worn)? Then it wouldn't be a must-have like the canni-worm, just a good item you can quest for instead of killing a 4 times ubberer mob than your guild can kill.

"Its a fairly long quest" 4 mobs for their uncommon - rare drop and warmly giant faction. The tradeable Red Scale from Batty being the key drop(I hope no one ever bought it for 20k. IMO 10k). I personally took forever to finish mine even when I had the scale in the first place. I kept forgetting and couldn't get someone to show me exactly where in FR the Large Construct is(I hate that zone's halls!).

"the primary use of the wand is for its clicky" that depends on the individual. I used it in place of the Belt of Burning Chaos' damage increment V so another guildie may benefit and raise my stats in the process. Making the effect worn and not a buff would be an improvement not a nerf by freeing a buff slot.

With the FT3, it's a little out of line, but like the Book of the Archmagi it's an ancient piece of loot designed long before players became as powerful as they are now. I think cutting the mana regen and dropping it to 10 INT would be a good way to go about balancing the item. FT3 is roughly 150 mana in an average raid fight, so this item has a whole lot of mana on it for very little effort.

Consider that it's spell mana regen, which isn't quite the same as FT for cap purposes. Moreover, it takes a buff slot, and Batty's scale is an enormous bitch to get.

it taking a buff slot is a downside to it there

i havent raided in wr in a while but i know i was killing buffs all the time when i did because i was hitting the buff limit either due to useless buffs that didnt help me or i needed room for debuffs that mobs did.

All this bullshit about nerfing items is fuckin retarded imho. Just because mudflation has happened over the last few months doesnt mean the lower lvl guilds/players should be fucked out of the same loot people have had access to for years.

Its all entering the same stage eq did and wow is entering now, mudflation fucking sucks but its the only way you will keep the vets playing.
