Return to Shards of Dalaya

I will say I never got into the "other game" by SOE.

I don't know what it was about it. I played for about 4 months when it first came out and was excited to see SoD during some research about private servers.

I REALLY want to get into this game. What I would like is for someone to make a case for SoD and nto just what makes it fun, but why they play and spend so much time online playing it. Also, what kind of things you are doing and what you have done that has memorable for you in-game.

Like I said I REALLY want to get into SoD. It looks like an awesome community of friends and gamers. I just need someone to make a small reply singing SoD's praises and what makes the game so great!

Cheers and see you all online soon!

Well.. I started playing "the Game" right about when Kunark came out. I played hard core for around five years, quit about three years ago... they came out with the "classic" servers or whatever, played there for a while.

SoD brings back that true classic feel to me. Also, unlike other games, you don't have 1k 12 year olds with l33t speak, stupid names (seriously. Deadheadfred on WoW the other day?!), and truly custom content, with more coming out constantly.

You have the option to solo if you pick a class that can (most can to an extent, but some are a lot better at it), find groups most of the time even at low levels, a variety of quests that aren't just go kill 1 billion snakes, if you're like me & sadistic, you can tradeskill & even get exp for it!

The GM's actually give a shit. They do listen to concerns. They have rules, and you have to follow them, but contrary to some beliefs, they're not Nazi's!

Basically, there's something for everyone. If you're casual, there's things to do. If you're hardcore, there's things to do. If you're in between, there's things to do. You can spend 80 hours a week online, or 8 hours a week, and will still find something unique to do.

Thank you Kerolyne. Your post was very helpful and I look forward to really getting into teh swing of things with SoD.

I don't suppose your guild is looking for noob members?

I'm looking for a guild that is friendly and mature. I personally am 29, married, have a 1-month little girl, and a host of other responsibilities, so dealing with immaturity is not possible given my schedule.

I know there is the noobie guild everyone is in, but if you'd have me (or anyone else) please PM me with how I can get in touch with you in game or if you have a guild website or something.
