Resists for raid

Raiding T4-8 content right now.
I was wondering resist-wise, what should you be aiming for for different resists ? I heard you needed about 200 base MR , 200 + FR , but the other 3 are generally not talked much about. Probably because they get more important later on, but i woudl like to know what I should think about at this point

Regards

Well, honestly, t4-8 is a HUGE leap in content. That said, MR will always be the most important. Even when you start powering through ToT, MR is still probably the most important. At tier 7-8, most melees should be able to peak their MR, FR, and CR above 230 unbuffed -- which is what you should be aiming for imo.

Since tier 4 through tier 8 are completely different things and id argue that resists at tier 4 are a joke:

You should focus highest on fire resist, magic is a close second but really the only time the other few come into play is when your guild cant farm thaz(lol) and you have to make a drastic decision to do pofrost or undercity.

The only hard mobs in thaz require fire, all of valorb requires fire, pofire requires fire , taeshlin requires fire, Tower of tarhyl requires fire.

Fire is basically THE resist.

Cold/disease/poison are tend to be rare occurrences (Outside frost/undercity/entropy?) and you can always just supplement them through potions and a few good swap items unless you are making a habit of those zones.

This is all 100% true. Basically follow this advice word for word.

I will say that if you're a monk MR will start becoming significantly more important, and also that Sepulcher has some MR check fights.

Yeah raidbuffed on my monk I'm just shy of 500 fr/mr and can switch in a diamondine necklace to hit it on both. Has made pulling much much easier, and splitting pulls for groups or while farming is a joke now since I can usually feign and it won't be broken even with 3-4 casters in a pull. Actually gaining hp over the course of a 1v1 fight with most caster mobs is awesome.

Allright! Thanks for the advice... I had just pushed my base FR / MR passed 200 and as I was gonna aug the rest of my gear toward other resists i figured i would never be able to push them as high... good to know they are THAT much situational... i guess i won't bother augging DR and PR. :)

I'd suggest keeping all your old crap too, you'll find alot of random stuff that blows until you are in dire need of resists later on.

Cold the most direly needed place is pretty much thaz upper water against the water elemetaly guys. Pofrost too obviously, though you can definitely get by with shithouse cr. Other than that it's almost completely ignorable unless you're pulling. Only real other place i can think of that makes use of cr is like storms eye.

I wouldn't toss out the odd piece of high dr or pr though, occasionally they will come in handy.

I bought a set of Diamondine rings and earrings for those few encounters where every bit of resist is needed and auged each with FR and MR. It cost me a tone of plat, but has proved handy to have. Nothing sucks like dying to AE in a raid. Well. except wiping.

Yep ! When i got a guild that's the first thing i bought, just to be somewhat up to par. :) They have done me a LOT of good... i'm gonna be sad when i get better melee earrings. :)

Actually I've seen worse, tank drowning.

What are you fighting exactly... they seem to be relating a humorous story. Or is my cynicisms meter tuned to high today?

It's sarcasm mostly. I know exactly what fight they are referring to and I Find it funny someone actually managed to drown. It's unfathomable you'd pay that little attention on said fight D:
