Request: Platinum Black Sapphire Earrings

I found the first jewlcrafted item i'm really displeased with enough to request an upgrade:

Basically at the cost of a rarer, more expensive gem and at a higher skill level you make a worse earring than one which could be made with a Star Ruby or Ruby for +wis.. (for any newbies who feel like butting in, afaik no classes need both wis and int unless it has an undocumented bonus)

Making the stats +7 and adding some meelee stat or something would be fine!

I thought the Black Sapphire jewelry used to be +7 to all melee stats, it could be a mistake or I could be a moron; maybe both.
