REQ- look at blast traps (bug)

I wanted to give a heads up warning - about *BLAST* Traps. I thought maybe it was just me and my dumb luck… But it seems a rogue can crash a zone if their blast trap hits multi targets. I have had my trap go off on 1 creature and no crash but if there are 2+ that get hit with the *Blast Trap* the zone crashes. I get instant disconnected and anyone else in the zone gets the red ping bar and booted.

I've been trying to up my skill in sense set/disarm traps so when I have some down time I usually place a trap. If I leave it up and 1 creature walks by it, it fires off for 447dd. If 2+ creatures get in the trap, BOOM zone crashes.

This doesn’t appear to be limited to zones. I have done this in HHK (Yesterday), group and I thought that was odd… zone crash? Then I did this in mielechc (soloing no one else was in the zone today) I thought that was goofy… and in FR, I placed a trap and was able to sense and the puller pulled a few guys to us and BOOM zone went down.

So please be warned little fellow rogues, I did /bug this and hopefully it will get looked at.
 
from my experiences with blast trap it seesm to crash zones when it hits a mobs pet (like a mage/sk/necro mob pet ect.) or when its set off near special mobs like inacctive event mobs or such (unconscious warped subjects in kaesora come to mind).
 
It usually crashes for me on some massive undead pulls, and undead pets, machine side of rust is fine, undead side it crashes, HHK it crashes, bard area of miel C crashes, the upper temple part of cmal 3 crashes...haven't really pinned it down yet...might give it a shot tonight
 
Hmm now that I think of it, perhaps something goes wrong if a pets master dies before it does... an angle to investigate at least.
 
I do not know if that is it Cyzaine because I go through Kaladim and kill the undead gnomes before/without touching thier pets, but have never killed 2 with one shot.
 
In FR It crashed on the way to the bladeforge (in the stair well area)... There could have been a pet creature but I couldnt tell the tank pulled 8 or 9 guys as I looked up.

in mielech-c it was towards the bard wing.. I dont recall if it was a necro frog with a pet when it crashed the zone... I will check it tomorrow and verfy.

Did some crashville related research. Its almost certainly pet related. At least the crashes we were seeing.
 
It appears I just crashed greater faydark but attempting to disarm my own trap :/ unless it was a freak aligned moons as I attempted to disarm my own trap and I got insta booted/disconnected.
 
That would be an interesting change. And my interesting I mean WTF! Should be unrelated to the blast trap thing I'd hope.

A fix for that is in. It has another interesting bug, nothing game breaking but unintended which you get to enjoy for a bit. But let me know if it going off seems to be causing further crashes.
 
Any chance that while we're twinking code on blast traps they could be adjusted back to the "old" damage code? *wink* Or something in between, like a ranged damage limiter to do more damage the closer the mobs are to the trap, or bonus dmg to over 10 mobs or so?

I only mention this b/c I still have wet dreams of the broken blast traps doing ungodly damage and it takes me to my happy place
 
I crashed meleieh-c today and it was on a single pull... only one spellfrog ran over my blast trap and the zone crashed. I dont know maybe my trap "critted"? but the "a froglok spellblade" was solo and he doesnt have a pet. nor is he undead :)
 
I use the traps a lot in DN, scryers/ seers with their pets and such and have never crashed that zone with them; i have had some trouble with Z axis placing a trap on a hill, mob runs into it and zone explodes.
Those blasted traps (geddit)
