Req. Level for knight-only low level weapons

I agree that knights should get the best ratio 1handers. The problem is when you get it at a level that no other class (except for monks) can dual wield.

Since the other tank (Warriors) get Dual Wield at level 13, I would consider putting Required Level 13 to most knight-only 1-handed weapons that have no required level right now. This is the case of Lava Infused Morning Star and some other slashing weapons.

I just created a Shadow Knight and killed my first mob (a lvl 1 skeleton) in one hit with this weapon, it hit for 18 or more.

Most knight weapons already have Req. Level on them.

That weapon isn't really that good for a knight EXCEPT at lower levels. The first 13 levels aren't really that big of a deal. When do warriors get crit? When do they get kick? (a free extra attack)

Until level 9, knights are really just gimped warriors...one more weapon choice isn't going to tip the scales that much.

If that weapon drops in Red Sun Mines, or Red Sun Peaks, it's grossly underpowered for where it drops.

Well, I just feel that my lvl 1 shadow knight hitting for 15-25 isn't right. I'll learn to live with it, though :).

Any newbie character can hit for 20 (the cap) with a two handed sword or hammer dropped from a decaying skeleton too. Yes the weapon is a little unbalancing at level 1 but fairly quickly comes into line as the character levels up.

I need to play a melee again I see. So the required level mechanic replaces the arbitrary damage cap thing? I seem to recall there being a cap on SoD several months ago at least, IIRC.

It's not like it's a big deal that you're overpowered at level 1, it's very easy to be overpowered at level 1.

over powering

Yea it is easy to be over powered at lv 1...I have a blade of Intangable rendering that is 2hs that does 20dmg and 50delay with a 18 magic dmg on it....I hit for around 80 at lv 1 but If i missed....I was paying for it....I now hit at lv 13 for around 95 with my streght items I have now...but now that I think about it I think it has been harder then if I had used a normal 1h weapon with a lower delay...cuz I get pounded if I miss...so it all balances out...That morning star is nice but is only good to mid 20's to low 30's then you should beable to find better...and its only god like at lvs 1- 7 or 8 so....

After this guy took a liking to my character's model on Live, I was grossly overpowered at level 1, and had equipment that I kept all the way to 30. So wagh.
