Relic : Manifest elements proc

I created this topic about it because i dont think that the proc on the relic pet should be a DoT,because it more troubles than help, due to a spawn happening over you and the pet changing targets , and proccing on it risking the group to wipe.
And also because the AA Elemental Mastery not beeing useful with dots, only on DDs,so far having EM + nuke crit aas to work togheter i need to have a wizard cast that proc buff of theirs on it in order for it to be useful which is kinda silly having to get another class buff in order to have an AA to work properly.
So id like to request for it to be changed for stun/dd or something,to avoid the very annoying dot.
Sorry for the poor english :(

Pet hold will save your relic worries. Altho you'll need to be a bit more active with your hot keys.

i have pet hold and it definately helps but still dont fix the issue, what im complaining about is that i had the pet change target on an add after i had sent it to atack the MT's target, but one of the adds we had, atacked me,and the pet auto changed targets and atacked and procced on that add which made it unmezzable for 2 ticks and caused the group to wipe because it jumped at the CCer right away ,why not just change it to regular air pet proc dd/stun or something?

And its not the only point of my post, theres also there is the point that relic pet do not benefit fully from the elemental mastery AA due to not havin a dd proc (unless with the wizard's line of proc buffs),considering its the best pet magicians get i would expect they would.

/pet hold
/pet back off
/pet hold

Just to be safe. But yeah, have your pet hold then back off. That'll keep him from jumping on the others. I ALWAYS /pet back off before letting off hold to set up for /pet attack. As far as helping with adds to be mezzed, that just isn't possible with the relic. Well it is, but yeah.

Hence his suggestion about it being changed.

I said once and im saying again, thats a part of the issue ,i gave an example on how the relic pet has a sucky proc, and at that situation no macro coulda saved group unless i had pet on hold the full time of the fight, which is unreasonable for obvious reasons, the pet ninja changed targets and procced right away keeping the add "mez-immune" for 2 ticks.

The other reason was already stated above, that id like that our best pet take full benefits of the aas i buy for it ;the dot beeing annoying also counts (at least for me)

I think it's a perfectly legitimate complaint, but the DD would have to be weaker (so as to not change the overall damage output).

This is definitely a valid piont. I agree that the relic pet DoT isn't really appropriate. The two main problems make a lot of sense.

1. The proc makes any mob affect by it unmezzable for 2 tics.

There are going to be occasions when the pet will be attacking a mob for a short period of time even when it is not the primary target. Such times might be when there are adds that aggro on the pet or when the pet is offtanking something while CC gets things under control. The DoT isn't something the mage can turn on or off or pick which mobs it will be cast on, so I don't think it makes sense to penalize the mage in this respect when he has the best pet available to him.

2. The proc isn't affected by Elemental Mastery.

Elemental Mastery allows the pet to take advantage of combat and crit AA's. It doesn't make a lot of sense for the best pet a mage can get to not get the full benefits of this AA.

I can understand that perhaps the relic pet was given a different proc to set it apart from the rest of the pets, however for the reasons above I don't think that the DoT is the appropriate type of proc. A stun/DD would make sense, or perhaps something else creative that would take advantage of the various things the mage has worked for to improve his pet. As it stands right now the relic pet's DoT can be more of a hassle than a benefit and could definitely be changed to something more worthwhile.

Yep, was just clarifying in my second post. I misread your first one. I was under the impression that this was intended, as I've never gotten any information in the past when I asked about the dot portion.
