Dalayan Beginner
All I can say is I knew it, I knew I knew this game... <fades into a state of recollection>

There I was at work, looking for anything to occupy my time other than work; when I get this idea that I need to find a new game to play when I get home. So I get to thinking and my head gets to hurting when suddenly it hits me... really hard...a nerf ball to the back of the head. I ice down the point of impact, as untreated nerf injuries can swell uncontrollably, and in that moment of pain I remembered reading about this game, Shards of Dalaya.

So I google it and go to the website. I click to enter the forums so I can troll a bit when I notice something a little scary - the forums know who I am - dbum. Naturally, I freak out at first but that quickly fades as I think this is one of my all time wishes coming true...

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know, people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

Feeling pretty full of myself, thinking World Domination is surely not far off, I start looking around the site a bit more. Read some threads, look at the intro pages, etc... And the more I look around, the more I start to freak out again. The main site looks so famiilar and the game itself sounds so much like this game I used to play (W1nter's R0ar) its not even funny - I am seriously freaked out, sweat is just pouring out of me. We are talking rivers. And who could be so low as to hijack W1nter's R0ar. But, despite suffering from the worst case of deja vu and paranoia, I still have to see this game in action (and find out who was behind this dasterdly deed) - and yeah, I was impressed that the forums knew my name (how cool is that). So I click the link to register. I fill out the fields, debate if I really want to do this and finally, curiousity wins out and I click submit.

Now, after all this, all the suffering I endured looking through this site and debating if I should be freaked out and leave and stay and settle my curiousity, what is the first thing I see after clicking that submit button...

Thank you for registering with W1nter's R0ar. You new Account has been created.

Return to W1nter's R0ar

Without even logging in, my fears are confirmed...who ever you are, you stole this game and were so careless as to not even cover your tracks.

Hehe, sorry so long winded but I really am bored at work :D . But yeah, I did get a chuckle after re-registering and seeing that. I now bid you ado and no, you can't have the time it took you to read this back... and yes, nobody knows who the heck I am :D

...and so that people don't go and create an account to see this, you can click HERE to see W1nter's R0ar lives on (for a little while at least).

And now that the EQ bug has bit again, I hope I didn't pitch my disks when moving thinking I would never play again. And yes, I know this isn't EQ :).

BTW, I really did freak out when I did preview and it automatically replaced W1nter's R0ar (when spelled correctly) with Shards of Dalaya. And I hope my mentioning the game before does not create any issues since it seems it was set to auto replace when the former game is mentioned (though I think that may just be to avoid confusion). Paranoid I am...

It wasn't me, I swear. And now that I have taken a nap (still at work mind you), I can honestly say I have no idea what that is.

But the point was that after registering a new user, the screen that you are presented with is the screen used for the predecessor of SoD.
