years ago they were made to be non-usable in gloves/boots due to arcibu exploiting, but you can actually still put those augs in those items, but it makes the item unusuable. i forgot about this and put a refuge cold dmg aug in my gloves on accident and wasted ~15,000 plat. at the least there should be a warning or something so other people don't make the same mistake i did.
