Hey, kids. Ranger Sheck here. I know I haven't been around in a long time, but a certain buddy of mine has been bugging me to get back into SoD. Since I'm patiently waiting for my password to be reset, I figured I'd give another crack at the ol' item database that I had set up aeons ago (before SoD was SoD and was something else that shalnt be named. Yes, shalnt is a word, go look it up).

So here we go - it's completely re-written from the ground up. If anyone cares, the old one was in PHP, this one is in Ruby on Rails. I imported the 1900 items I had in the old database into this new one, but there are probably hundreds more new items that have gone into the game since my old site was online.

Chase the link, register an account (with a valid email address, sorry - best way to keep out spammers - I promise not to sell it), start adding items, and start adding comments to items.

Yes...I have been bugging you to play again. :) It appears that the bugging has paid off. Nice work on the item DB. Your's was always the best...and I'm not just saying that because we're friends.

Hope your accounts get reset soon...we got some killin to do...

Question: an easy way to update the DB would be to just add a char I know who has an item that isn't in the Database yet. But it would appear to be my char in the DB (appears in my account it seems). Would that be ok or better not? Is the owner still able to add to the DB if he wants to?

P.S. btw. HUM is missing in the search function :(
 
I'd love to use it and start adding items, except, it won't make new accounts. I've signed up with 2 different email addresses and 2 different usernames... and neither one has gotten a validation email. I know spam filters didn't catch either email, as I have it disabled on the one account, and the other isn't a freemail account (ie. everything gets through).
 
Gea - I considered that as well, it'd be nice to import items from known characters, even if they are not your own, so I added the ability to "delete" a character from your character list. If you want to import someone else's stuff, just add them, import, and then remove them from your list. Also, thanks for pointing out HUM was not on the race list - added.

taishar - I seem to be having some weird name-lookup problems. Sometimes, it will fire off the email immediately, other times it will fail (and then doesn't try again for 4 hours). If you have still not received your activation email, please PM me and I'll get you activated.
