Ranger bow comparison

Eh, I'm not really convinced of the necessity of it. There are already thousands of mobs out there you can "parse" on, the only variables are how long you can parse before either a) you die or b) the mob dies. Every person in this game can download EQC and see what their average DPS is on any given set of mobs using any given weapon or spell. Given enough data over time, you can get the same results.
yeah, its not necessary, hence it not being in game at this point. but it'd be fatty useful to have one mob that would provide a good standard. If there were practice dummies in the Arena, i don't know how this could hurt anything really.

It honestly wouldn't hurt anything at all, IMO.

Anyone else remember the Monster Summoner back in Shadowhaven? That guy was swell, too.

I don't, but i.e. the banker in Katta, tho level 1 or so, provided compareable results. Would be a good thing.

Oh man, I do.

That was definately the best thing that died with the LoM (i.e. I miss him).

For those who missed it:

There was this guy in shadowhaven who would summon any reasonable number of mobs of any reasonable level, on command, and there was a guard outside who would kill them if you ran away.

The upside: Parsing, something to do while lfg, FUN. The mobs spawned with a random model size and you could chose from a variety of mob types (models). Fighting a 50 foot tall gnome? AWESOME.

The downside (the balance): It wasn't really good xp.

In all the time I visited that guy I saw someone else there, maybe twice. So, even though the server population was much lower, it obviously wasn't keeping people from xping and it wasn't being used as an xp spot at all. Putting something like that back in the game could only benefit the server (and not just the players).

Awe inspiring idea. Would he be a regular mob that you could practice weapons on? Non engaging? Rooted? Wide variety of possibilities.

That sounds absolutely crazy awesome.

But back to topic, how much do the various stats count insofar as the difference between the bows. Is there supposed to be a dps difference between them? Is bane damage being weird? etc.

Spawning 8 mobs at a time to practice on made me the shitty enchanter I was.

<3 the Monster Summoner.
