Random Necro Pets

Then the recast would have to be longer than just 2 minutes (at least it's 2minutes on mage pets). If it would be 10 minutes, I guess it wouldn't even be worth the hassle.

But I think your variety of damage spells makes up for having only one pet. And as mentioned, Wake the Dead AA summons a very very powefrul pet for some time if you use it on the right mob :evil smiley:

necro's also have a 2 minute recast time on pets.

we have about the same means of dealing damage as a mage.  we get dots and DD's, you get DD's, rains, one dot, and AoE's.  mages have more of a variety of dealing damage than necro's.

and thank you Dzillon, that was exactly what i was trying to get across.  im only good with coming up with crude ideas, which need to be finely tuned to come out balanced.

about the cleric mob, i've charmed Vicars in first ruins often so i've seen NPC clerics in action.  most of the time they chain heal until they run oom (yes they do run oom, took me forever to kill an azure drake the other day).  yes if they had an infinate mana pool then it would be a very bad idea.  an idea would be it would occasionally heal anyone in the party with a small healing spell (like healing) and minor buffing which would go away if you dismiss the pet.

How would you scale the DPS from a Wizard pet to the dps of a warrior pet?

Obviously wizards outdps warriors by a shitload, so you would have to scale the wizards pet wayyy down to keep it from being too powerful in certain situations.

Also how would you control aggro generation between a monk pet and a wizard pet, clearly a wizard chain nuking would draw many times the aggro that a monk would pull.

So, if pets were spawned with random classes, you would have a paper mache low dps wizard, your regular warrior, and 2 lower hp melees that would probably do minimally more dps than a warrior pet, because we certainly dont want to increase the overall average dps of the necro pet, but with less hitpoint.

It seems like the whole thing would be pointless and possibly make necros pets worse than they already are (and they are pretty sweet atm)
