Random client crashes...

Voodoognome

Ok, I'm having a weird problem. I have SoD installed and running perfectly on my computer, and I finally convinced my friend to play. I installed everything on his computer, patched to live, downloaded all the files, got everything set up. He can log all the way in, but after being on for just a minute or two, the client crashes. I can't seem to figure out any reasons for these crashes, and I haven't been able to find any solutions. Looking for suggestions, thanks....

I have problems in certain zones, i can't get through the one right off of HoL, green jungle or something. Dono if that can be helped or not.

My only suggestion to you is when you log in, turn off ALL PARTICALS. I crash when monsters or people cast spells at random ive gone about 1hr befor crashing becouse of spell effects, but without them i only crash when i go into the jungle or randomly sometimes on the moon

I wonder if wiz would beable to implament some tool to send him some debugg to fix things like this... ;(

We won't be able to change your client, so it doesn't matter.

As for topic: Could it be running out of ram or likewise? I remember my old computer doing that, sometimes.

Doubt it. I can play normal EQ and other Emu servers fine without the crashes. As wel as WoWarcrft without crashing or anything.

But with how this is now.. its like as soon as i hit any key on the keyboard I crash sometimes. if not then, sometime within the next 2-3 miniutes.. at most.

EQ is picky. do you have all updated drivers? and if so, have you tried wiping EQ and re-installing again? it seems to have this way of corrupting at random, and a lot of the time doing EXACTLY what you did the first time when installing, for whatever reason, works like a charm.

Well, I never figured out what was wrong with it, but it corrected itself after a reboot. Strange, but it would crash within 10 minutes of logging in, then after rebooting the computer, it plays perfectly.
