Rampage aggro

Hi, I am just wondering exactly how rampage agro works. I am asking this because if I pull a mob, and FD, and wait for RTanks, I will always 100% of the time sustain rampage agro. It doesnt matter if I don't attack, FD out of range and wait... I always have rampage agro when I run back in range. Just wondering if this not how it should be working. Also if this is how it should be working, why? Thanks =)

Rampage never takes you off the hate list, If you move out of range of it, it will just take the next highest person on the list and put him on it (hopefully a warrior). If you move back, He'll goto his original target

So moving out of range and FDing until the mob is at 75% (Enforcer in SK to be exact) should not remove me from top of Rampage list? Seems a little strange.

I've heard thats how its supposed to work, probably meant to make it easier for RT's to remain rampage tanks without having to worry about out-aggroing the MT. Just make sure the first 3 engaged are the tanks and you're good (or, if you're pulling, dont engage :().

That is the correct way it is supposed to work. Think of ramp as a second agro list. The first person to attack is on the top for BOTH agro lists.. the difference with rampage is that you dont drop through it unless you are out of range. So once you get on the ramp list, you will be on the ramp list until you wipe agro. My suggestion is flop several times before diving in, and if that doesn't work, insist the guild hook you up with better gear so you can be the rampage tank hehe.

If you stay down for a while, it should clear you from the list, I think.

It will remove you from that list but that's not that easy.
In EPL for example a puma jumped me, I went FD and got to get some food.
After 10-15 Mins I got up again, went to a safe spot and sat down. After several minutes the puma was back and killed me instantly. So out of range isn't working at all, there were at least 15-20 min between the FD and the final attack.
A bit strange imo, that makes FD kinda dangerous for a group.

I FDed several times and waiting 25% on Enforcer (which is a decent amount of time with DPS like Zronimol =P), so I doubt that waiting will affect it. Thanks all for the posts and epxlanations =) I guess Ill have to talk with someone in my guild about whether I should just stay FDed out of range or what.

In EQ live they revamped agro from wandering mobs and had a message that let you know that "Your enemies have forgotten about you." Typically, it is easier for a monk to shake agro once the monster has returned to its spawn point. However, for some monsters that are not static, in the old times, they would almost NEVER lose agro. Hence the olden days reason of "if you lose a mob while pulling fear,, FD and /q." Because back then, if you got back up,, the wandering mob would chain agro about everything in the zone. (which made for a spectacular wipe I might add.)

You could always try flopping multiple times before trying to hop back in, eventually one will wipe agro.
