Rain Spells

So, I have a question about rain spells.

Let's say I cast the spell, the target is far enough away from me that I'm not in the AoE range. Then all the mobs in the AoE range die, but there are still one or more waves to come. It seems like the waves then somehow are directed at me, even though I haven't moved into the AoE.

Is this intended to work like this?

There are ways to get out of it.

You will also quickly become a very good judge of distance, but yeah, still a pain in the balls.

To minimize the damage, as soon as something dies directly as a result of a rain wave, move. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. Best option is usually towards your group or raids last location. You will not have to move to terribly far.

In most cases, also selecting a new target before the one you are raining dies will prevent it from redirecting to you. Most times I park my pet and hit F1 twice to target him just before the last mob dies so it doesn't come back on me. That's the only thing that works for me.

Oh that's the trick. I was initially targeting the tank, but I got the impression that in that case the tank was then one of the "targets" of the spell and absorbing the damage.

Rains can hit up to three targets within the AoE range right?
Is it always the same three targets, or will it jump around if there are more within the Effect?
If there were 50 mobs in the area, how does it determine which ones are hit, distance from the target of the spell?

No, only 2. Also 1/3 of the crit rate as regular dd's.

It will jump if one dies if there are still mobs left within the initial range.
