Raiding Progression?

Can anyone provide a general outline of the raiding path? What zone/ area do you consider "Entry Level Raiding" to "Extreme Throwing-up-on-your-shoes Raiding"?

Thanks.

personally i'd say start with easy raid encounters like the protecter dragon in fae woods, and the arch mage in first ruins or maybe some WW dragons. to start practicing pulling and splitting, i would say try killing down to the deepfiend golem in first ruins, and spliting the room while not getting yourselves killed by the ancient deepfiend or the 3-4 deepfiends down there. that or do treasure maps, which give decient loot for those non-raid equipped.

Lady of the Deep, Protector Kloie, Emerald Maw and some of the WW dragons like Batutisz or Demitri are all entry level "real" raiding.

Prison and the second half of Plane of Air are currently the hardest zones in the game, but both the hardest mob in PoA and Inner Prison (hardest planned zone so far) are still unfinished.

What sort of raid group would these entry level raids you mention require? Are we talking 12 50-55 people with decent equipment, or are we looking more at 65 to begin?

It all depends on what numbers you have, if your people are around 50-55, tmaps are your best bet. A very easy can be done with say 8? 50-55 people (I am guessing on the level, I don't know if you cannot kill a map if the map poofs or not, you might want to check, and have someone people on will call). Also you can do bone and shade dragons in DN, while not raid, they are fun and you can learn kinda what you need to do if you have never raided before, plus they drop spells and decient gear.

As said before FR SG and WW dragons, level 65 is your best bet there. I know grinding can get dull, even more so that some of the interesting magic lands places are gone now.

level 65 for sure, with clerics and a warrior, not many people can be gay like us and use a pally to tank raid mobs

I would say you take 18-24 people fresh to level 65 and you will have good success, these mobs drop great equip-up items.

For the easier ones you could probably get away with using about 3 groups of lvl 65's with poor gear and no AA's. Some of the tougher entry level mobs will require better gear and AA's but you'll get a feel for it as you progress I'm sure.

In the 50s you can do the dragons in DN with a couple of good groups. Some of the easier WW dragons might be possible with some numbers (probably 20), and emerald maw is a snap.

All in all, though, my suggestion would be to try and get at least a tank and a few DPS classes to 60+ asap. That'll make a huge difference.

To put it into perspective, though, at level 58 I (a paladin with fairly average gear for the level) tanked everything in MielechC short of Mielech himself (only got him to like 78%) with like 14 people mostly levels 53-60. The tank and healers are really key to most big encounters. If you're well organized, you can do a lot more than most people would expect, and don't need exceptional gear.

So were tov and ww dragons, but mob levels/toughness were changed to not make them trivial.

You can also try some of the named mobs in freeport (Grandmaster Monk, Arena Master and Beguiler). Arena Master is teh toughest of the three, and Beguiler is the easiest.

3 groups of 65's - AA's not required but useful.
Easy: Most of West Wastes except Za'Yth and the new giant. Protector Kloie. Keo Kodal in Wyvernfang. East Dragonhorn mini's. Emerald maw, Freeport nameds. Slavemaster/Fluxator in Stormkeep, Lord Eldenal.
--------
You'll need your low tier raid gear and a tank with some early archtype aa's would help a lot.
Less Easy-Medium: Za'yth, Ancient Deepfiend, West Dragonhorn wing (Viz/Rhizal), Enforcer, High Priest Coralsha, WW giant, lower plane PoA nameds
---------
Tank needs all his defensive AA's starting on this tier. You;ll also need a decent chunk of your raid AA'd as well and have some good dps. If you can keep the tank healed you can probably outlast these encoutners but it may be close.

High-Meidum: Rymaz, Plaguefang, 3 frozen (Stormseye), most north Dragonhorn named, hunter of souls (HoMisery), original minor Towers of Agony encounters except dblash.
-----------
This is the seasoned raid tier. All this stuff and some of the above mobs will be getting you geared up for the most extreme and ridiculous fights on the server. You need THE CORE of your raid geared as well as possible and with all their critical AA's and your casters with a good number of relic spells.

Hard: Dblash, Yziar, Advisor, Grand Librarian, 3 watchers (HoMisery), most upper plane PoA nameds. Gibberring Abomination, new Towers bosses except Warden. Master of the Everchill, Faralak
----------
These are just a bit tougher then the above ones. Considered the "end of tier nameds"

Harder but not extreme: Empress, Zirvane, Dergalak
-------------
Basically once you get to this level anything can potentially drop your tank no matter how many hp or ac he has inbetween CH's and you need a fully geared and AA'd raid with all the right combonation of classes. Also the encounter themsleves are designed to wipe you until on each phase until you manage to survive and learn them all so you can do what you need to do to avoid the wipe ~_~.

.Extreme: Warden of Torment (ToA), Shadow of Misery, Guardian of the Sun Shrine (EC), Keeper of the Gates, Manifestations, Mirror Golems and everything else inside the Prison.

Impossible: Future encounters with gods.

dreadfang is a pretty easy raiding zone, i would almost say around ww dragons or just past them in terms of difficulty.

Dergalak The Ice Lord is unknown atm cuz he is yet to be beaten what i think puts him in Extreme

Duma is a bit off on some of the difficulties but that's a fair enough progression chart, I might have to make one myself.
