Raid Window

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this section of the forums, but I know it was mentioned in the Balancing Discussion. The raid window needs a serious revamp. Big time.

I've seen it mentioned all across the server that the raid window is extremely buggy. If people leave, or need to be moved around for call of the hero, or ports or something, the raid gets really messed up, and you need to reform it. People can't disband, and people stay in old raids days after they have ended.

I would like to request that some of the GMs look at possibly fixing the raid window, or, taking it completely out of the game. Before, when you could link groups together, you could move people around and nothing would get messed up, and it would still be considered a raid.

Technically, nothing would change, the engage limit would still be 18, and the hate list would still only be 18.

We spend more time redoing raids and trying to finagle people around than anything. If this could be fixed or looked at, I'm sure it would benefit the entire playerbase. Well, at least those who raid. Thanks.

I'm not looking to start an argument by any means, but once they worked out the initial bugs in the raid window, I have found that nowadays it's quite useful (don't have to reform on zones/deaths). All in all, there are only a few things that I know are no-no's.

This includes changing group leaders (bugs the raid almost assuredly) then zoning. Other than that, the only other problem I can think of offhand is when people leave the event but don't remove themselves from the raid. As far as I know, there is no way to boot them out of the current raid.

Aside from these two problems, the raid window seems to be a plus at this stage.

Just so you know, if it involves coding, it's not "some of the GMs" -- it's Wiz and Wiz alone.

The raid window as it is today is leaps ahead of anything it was in the past, and is a gem to use in comparison.

It does bug out quite frequently though but I think it got polished to the point where it is very usable and left.

Though i do find it to be a waste of time messing with the raid to get the window working fine again i have come to terms with soeme of the basic problems. The main issues that really get on my nerves is the super mega raid bug where you have to camp to be able to leave the raid. i have had it happen to me and i could not disband no matter how many times i spammed control D and /raiddis and being on a slow computer like mine means almost 10 minutes of trying to log out and in.
those are the kind of raid bugs i hate. that is the big one anything else is just usually an annoyance to me that can be fixed with tedious work or having to do the usual raiddis/disband everytime i zone due to someone forgetting to leave raid before logging. Im all for a raid window fix if possible. if not ill live.

I've heard that, but I've also heard the exact opposite.  I know that you never never never ever ever change group leaders, but I've also heard that when you do reform you have a new group leader, which fixes things.  But I've heard you need to keep the same groups, etc, so I don't actually know what to think.

Rab:  You're the man.  Wiz is the Code Commander.  Wherever you see his face, you'll see the code.  I'll remember that.

Anyway, mainly what I was trying to say is that if Wiz could take a look at the raid window, and see if the last of the bugs could be worked out, that would rule.  Constantly reforming after people leave/arrive just gets really aggravating.

If the raid window is looked at, please allow the raid leader to kick people from the raid and raid groups. Having to reform just because someone logged out and didn't raiddis is retarded. I don't know if there was supposed to be a way to prevent this (IIRC there was) but it doesn't work.
