Race/class modifications?

Is is technically possible for SoD to allow race/class combinations that differ from the established norm?

I was thinking it might be interesting both for roleplaying reasons, and to firmly establish SoD as unique, that the new player-run city have class guilds that allow something different. For example, any race might be allowed to be a warrior to represent hiring a defending army, the non-standard ones starting in Athica itself (when it becomes reasonable to do so).

While it might be a lot of work to adjust the game to accept, say, high elven warriors - I can't imagine it to be unbalancing. The races most suited for warrior-dom are already allowed the class.

I know you can do it via GM commands (Permarace, permaclass), but you'd have to either have GMs constantly catering to the requests of race changes, or else put in an NPC that does it. I guess it could work if the NPC was only accessible at level 1, but I don't know if the idea of ARAC is good in the first place. It would completely trivialize the coolness of Foma. ;)

Technically it can be done, just not through the char select screen. It could be implented in the beginning 'dream' sequence allowing you to pick race stats etc...

I like this idea. Alot. However I do think that it would overload the GMs with race/class requests if handled through a GM and if it was just a free for all during the dream it may cause lore issues. Ive always wanted a Dwarf Druid =|

dark elf-ranger(don't see why not)
dark elf-monk(dark elf have discipline and faith essentials for a good monk)
high elf-monk(high elf have discipline and faith essentials for a good monk)
high elf-warrior(where would the clerics learn the melee skills to be a paladin?)
high elf-bard(elfs to my knowledge are very skilled artisans)
wood elf-shaman(they share the same roots as races that can be this class)
troll-necromancer(else how would they be able to be SK's in the first place)
oger-necromancer(else how would they be able to be SK's in the first place)
