Despite the fact that this item has a better ratio now, I loved the spam factor of a 1/4, nevermind the uniqueness of having a weapon that is so fast. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same way, and if enough people do, if the Devs would switch it back.

Thanks to anyone who participates.

just on a personal note hear. with attack powers over 1000 giving extra damage on such a fast weapon generates bonus damage from being a 1/4 vurse a 2/7. this might have effected the change. yours hason the warrior

Thanks Rab =P

What was the reasoning behind it (if I may ask)? Other than to offer a better ratio?

I checked the only other post on the claw I could find, and saw a problem that someone was complaining about (maxing out at 1dmg), but others claimed it could do more. Just wondered if the reason was beyond this or not. As this is obviously a pressing issue that requires immediate attention, I expect a quick, decisive and final answer moments after this reply is posted! Step to! =P

Heh, had a feeling this thread would catch Rab's attention. . .
Don't worry, I'm not knocking your Adept...in fact, he's probably my favorite =P

Yeah, not sure if that could be considered to balance out with the inherent negative side of having such a fast weapon. It's great to build up that much aggro...but (as stated here http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/forum/index.php?topic=5910.0) ripostes, and not to mention damage shields, would rend any tank trying to use it for the purpose of aggro generation. Personally, I'd think that could balance out the aggro generation (at least, on mobs that fit those bills). I'm not saying one way or another that it *should* be changed back, just that the idea of a 4 delay weapon, no matter how little damage you could do, is just funny.

I'm pretty sure I know why it was changed, and to change it back would unbalance the lowend game for people with it.

it was bugged

the way the damage was calculated the 1/4 would hit for 1s all the time and such, even if it were 2/8 it would do far more dps

It does more DPS the way it is now, I don't see what the issue is (unless you'd prefer spam over DPS ). Also, as TM just stated, it was previously bugged.

Again, I'm not stating that it should be turned back, nor am I looking for a huge following of those that agree with me to try to force a change back. I, personally, like the spam side better, and the uniqueness of the 1/4 design for this reason; a 2/7 weapon with no stats, no proc, just straight up damage, has little use later on, at least with the 1/4 design it was still very unique, and entertaining. Granted 1/4 isn't that much different than 2/7, but there is another weapon of similar damage/delay (if not exactly the same, or a 4/7, I forget off-hand) out there from 60+ TMaps with nice stats and a nice dual-wield mod on it. I don't think every piece of gear dropped from adepts should carry you through to 65 (some pieces do, especially clickies like Half Digested Hex-Doll, Flitterwing Pouch, etc), but at 65, a 1/4 weapon is still unique, and fun...if not terribly effective. That's all I was trying to state originally, and just wondering why it was changed, other than to give it a better dps output.

Personally, visualizing level 65s having knife-fights in duels with a 1/4 is hilarious to me =P

It drops when you are level 1. I do not think it is intended to continue being used till the "later on" part.
