Quick note on High-level content being designed

SoD has grown quite a bit since I joined the team nearly a year and a half ago. Just last night I logged in to run my nightly script testing and saw 120 level 65's online. Frankly that's staggering compared to even January. I know everyone is pretty pumped about getting into the 'endgame' and high-end raiding, and you guys are dying for new content. I'm going to make this post to kind of ease your concerns, since I know there's been somewhat of a dryspell lately on new high-level content.

Firstly, since I returned from my break, I've been working on quite a few ideas. Specifically, there is a new endgame zone that is next up on my plate. I'm not going to divulge any specific details about the zone for now, but it will offer the most challenging content available to SoD to date. This will hopefully free up Prison for newer guilds entering the zone and those that hope to get a crack at Inner Prison. This will obviously also create a spiral effect opening up lower end zones that were recently farmed by said guilds because that's all they had to do.

Once that zone is out, I plan to work on mid-range raid content, several zones all focused around the same storyline. Again, I won't give out specifics, or anything of that nature, but it should be a set of zones ranging from DHK to Sepulcher in difficulty, with some fairly fun encounters that involve strategy as much as it does 'tank-n-spank'.

There is also obviously more plans for single group max-level content such as new zones and revamps, as well as a few cool quests that should be possible to do with recent additions to the quest engine.

So to summarize, I hope to have the endgame zone done by early September, with other zones following thereafter. This all depends on whether or not testing goes accordingly, but as everyone has noticed the past few days, I've been using Bastion of Thunder as a testbed for debugging new encounter scripts and such.

Hopefully this gives an idea of goals for high-end content for the next couple months from me specifically.

Seriously, if BoT became a raid zone I would love you for the rest of my life and have you as the best man in my wedding. Hope you arent just "testing" stuff in there for another zone...

so glad to see high end and also the mid game for the other guilds.

This will let alot of guild progress without much drama or racing which makes for a happy server :p

Just a thought I had. And I am just an average everyday kind of player, nothing special.

What if the end game were split into 2-3 paths like giants/dragon faction?

Advantages: Free some pressure from guilds, room for advancement, new areas?
Disadvantages: TONS of work! May need to assign guilds to specific paths...could do it on the nuetral/good/evil paths tied in with innovation/blackscale/silver crown etc though.

Just a concept. Hope you enjoy it in some form.

Danku

I don't really have any plans for something like that with this set of zones(everything is already on paper for the set of zones sharing the same storyline), but I won't rule it out for later zones.

The three factions idea probably wouldn't pan out very well because they're fairly young in the history of Dalaya, but it is possible their roles will be bigger for new stuff in the future.

i would love to see new raid content, but i would also like to see more exp zones in general, alot of us, and im sure many others, are starting to get -10% zone modifiers in almost all zones worth xping in. To be honest, i dont see why there are negative modifiers, and if there is such need, why not make them reset periodically?

that would indeed rock, personally im also hoping for a few lowstarting highend xp zones as well, say like mielc where you can go in with 1 or 2 people and xp but if you want to get deep count on bringing a group etc. Maybe even a massive range zone like firstruins would be nice for people just starting, alts, midrange and highend alike.
