I'm just now joining and I have a few questions. What's the population like? Is there a lot of PvE and PvP going on? What version of the game does the server support?
 
About 500+ at peak times, almost exclusively PvE, EQ Titanium version is easiest for install although others can be made to work (see tech section), game "era" is best approximated as "Velious" although lore, quests, zone connections are all original and zones thru PoP (or maybe LDoN?) are used. Check the wiki as it has lots of info on how SoD compares to live.

I'm fairly new too, but I'll take a shot at your questions:
1. The population is usually in the 500-600 range at peak times.
2. PvP is rare, this server is very much centered around PvE
3. ********* Titanium or above is required. I personally purchased the EQ starter pack on Steam to play. Perhaps others will chime in with the version they use.
